 In today’s episode, I had the amazing honor and privilege to interview a dear friend of mine, who emanates faith, love, sunshine and such an incredible inner strength...she is Keeba Souto, MSN, BSN, RN.  Keeba is a Nursing Director at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where we met, and where we worked alongside one another in the pediatric emergency room (where Keeba was my Director).  Keeba has such a beautiful energy around her, and her devout faith keeps her grounded and able to face the obstacles that life has placed in front of her, so that she can continue to live her life to the fullest as a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and nurse.  

  In today’s episode, Keeba and I talk about the beautiful (and heavy) badge of honor of being a nurse, as well as what it’s been like for Keeba to go from staff nursing to being in a position of leadership at our hospital.  Keeba beautifully shares her story of going through her breast cancer journey, and talks about how her faith was such a powerful force in helping her put one foot in front of the other during that journey.  

  I, like many nurses I know, look to Keeba as an incredible source of strength and as an amazing role model of leadership in nursing.  Keeba’s gifts of love, light and devotion are so very evident in her life as a wife to David, mother to 3 incredible boys, and family member, friend, and church member in her community.  I know that you are going to feel so very fulfilled after listening to the episode, so grab your favorite drink, cozy blanket, tissues (you’re going to need them!), and enjoy the magic that is Keeba Souto!!!

Child of God, Wife, Mom, sister, friend, professional, and average person. I love the Lord, my family, and friends. I started my career as a Pediatric Care Technician and worked my way up to Interim Assistant Vice President. When I thought nothing could go wrong, God tapped me on my shoulder and literally stopped me in my tracks. I was given the news that no woman with small children ever wants to hear, “It's breast cancer”! What?! Not me! Why me?

It took everything in me to be able to say, “ why not me”! My story, my testimony.... is what God bestowed on me to be able to share and remind others that with HIM ALL things are possible. When you think you cannot go on and trust me, I thought that many times, God says “take my hand. I have you and will carry you from this point on”. I am utterly grateful and in awe that HE chose me🙏🏽❤️

In today’s episode, I had the great pleasure of getting to talk with and learn from the incredible Melissa Martin. I met Melissa about 4 years ago at a women’s empowerment event in California.  There were about 500 women there, and we were split into groups of 4, and Melissa and I were put into the same group.  I knew right away that Melissa is someone who I could grab coffee with and talk about all things womanhood, being a woman entrepreneur and following your dreams.  Melissa is a coach for network marketers, as well as being an abundance and money mindset queen!  Melissa shares her story of going from the corporate world to network marketing, and then from network marketing into building her own brand and business.  Watching the way Melissa shows up in this world for herself and women entrepreneurs is inspiring and motivating.  Melissa shares her life through her IG stories and her podcast, “Boldly Courageous” with Melissa Martin.  Melissa is also the co-founder of  “Ladies Aligned” and “Align and Thrive” (“which is a virtual summit that will teach you how to thrive during the pandemic”).

In today’s episode, I had so much fun talking with and interviewing someone who has become a friend of mine, and a big supporter of mine in what I do in my health coaching business.  I met Lindsay Pemble through the inter-webs and our careers in nursing and love of yoga led me to finding out all about Lindsay and the magic she is putting out into the world!  We set up a phone date (with her living in Michigan at the time, and me in New Jersey), and we started our friendship on that call. 

   As a Cardiac Nurse Practitioner, Lindsay truly knows a thing or two about healing people’s hearts and thus, their overall health.  After 10 plus years in the nursing field, Lindsay has learned the ramifications of compassion fatigue, and how the stresses placed on nurses can lead to a lack of personal self-care.  Now, Lindsay has bridged her nursing knowledge and passion for this career with her passion for yoga and has become a yoga certified instructor helping people’s hearts on the yoga mat.  Lindsay Pemble is the owner and founder of YogaHealth Nurse.

  Whenever I speak with Lindsay, I find myself smiling and laughing (she is super funny!), and also feeling at peace with where I am in my life at that moment.  Lindsay truly has a gift of connecting with others and allowing them to show up exactly as they are in that moment.  I know you are going to find yourself pulling out your yoga mat after you listen to this episode, and I strongly encourage you to look up Lindsay and follow her and get involved in her community and all of the goodness she is putting out there in this world!!

In today’s episode, I had the great honor of interviewing an old friend of mine that I met at Crossfit 908 in New Jersey.  Leenie Quinn, BSN, RN, CCRN, is a force to be reckoned with!  Leenie is a dedicated daughter, sister, girlfriend, athlete, nurse, dog mom, and a passionate advocate for people with disabilities, particularly nurses with disabilities.  In today’s episode, we talk about what it’s been like being a nurse during these COVID times, going back to school full time while working full time, being a dog mom, as well as being born with a disability and how facing adversity as a child has helped Leenie become the woman she is today.  When Leenie walks into a room, the energy in the room is magnified 10X!  Leenie has a way of not only being the biggest cheerleader in the room for everyone else, but she has navigated this life and learned how to be her own cheerleader and motivator especially during the most difficult times.  Grab your coffee or tea or fizzy drink and sit back, relax and enjoy today’s show!!!

Imagine your invisible plate of life in front of you.  Are the items on your plate serving you at this time?  Are the items on your plate bringing your joy and happiness?  Are the items on your plate causing you severe anxiety and stress?
