What a week it has been!  Election madness, weather perfection a lot of the country perfect reasons to get out and ride!

Each and every show we like to start off by talking about the riding we do during the past week.  This week is no exception as Larry and Kevin discuss their weekly rides.

Larry forgot to mention the 2016 Milwaukee 8 Harleys have moved the catalytic converter further back in the exhaust, behind the driver so that engine heat is much less on the new baggers.

Florida Outdoor Adventures

News:

We discuss some recently released bikes starting with the Versys x 300 ABS.

Honda’s X-ADV with some designer input.

We talked about this when it was a concept bike, now it is going into production, though not yet announced for US. Is this the new “you meet the nicest people on a Honda” version to broaden the appeal of 2 wheel motorized travel? Scooters are very popular in Europe where gas is more expensive and parking for cars is often scarce, streets can be narrow etc.

Zero and Vespa both keeping the electric motorcycle news train rolling.

Interesting read on an autonomous motorcycle.  We discuss how this technology could help outside of doing the riding for you.

Hey RoadGear isn’t dead after all.

EBR released what we refer to as a sport tourer of sorts in the EBR Black Lightning.

Another Week Another exciting Throttled episode!!

Of course we lead off with our riding adventures or misadventures of the week.

Kevin was a guest on the Motorcycle Podcaster Roundtable hosted by the WheelNerds!!

Bike Reviews:

Larry got a change to ride a few Harleys and gives his thought on the bikes.

Sportster Roadster

Pro’s:

* Exudes chrome, steel, and quality

* Engine is smooth, powerful, with plenty of torque. Pulled strong in 6th from 50 mph

* Shocks front and rear pretty good. Firm, but not jarring. Short wheelbase, milder rake, means more front to rear jiggles.

* Did I say the engine was smooth and powerful.

* Nice, somewhat subdued, exhaust tone.

* Strong brakes

* Feels quick and maneuverable

* Analog tach

* Mid position pegs not that uncomfortable as seat height is higher than usual sportster 30″

* Usual Harley self-cancelling turn signals

Fun to ride.

Con’s

* Uncomfortable seat-hard

* Wide pegs interfere with otherwise great lean angle

* Wide pegs interfere with putting leg straight down

* Small gas tank-3.3 gallons. Bigger than on some other sportsters, but not as big as the low or custom (4.5)

* Somewhat forward lean for seating, but not too bad

Pro’s

* Surprisingly maneuverable even at slow speed. Weight was not an issue for me-except when trying to back it on a very slight incline

* Smooth powerful engine.

* Comfortable seat and ride

* Slight amount of wind buffeting

* Maneuverable at speed as well

* Plenty of torque and pick up at speed

* Powerful brakes

Con’s

* Subdued exhaust tone

* Somewhat mushy front forks

2017 Milwaukee

The two things that stood out was the smoother, even more tractable engine with a nicer exhaust tone, especially at idle and

* Firmer suspension, especially in front, to the point where I could almost characterize it as a bit harsh. However I do not know what the rear suspension was set at on the particular bike.

What a wonderful week of motorcycling!  We hope your last 7 days were filled with perfect weather and twisty roads.
