Today Lauren and her brother, who shall remain nameless for reasons made clear by his boss, tell the story of their first, real backpacking experience through Thailand. Of course, they landed themselves in a myriad of shenanigans within no time- a full moon party, Shroom Mountain, sailboats, love triangles, moped accidents, and even jail. It was beautiful chaos, but chaos nonetheless, and it taught them both just a little more about themselves, each other, and life as a whole. 

In honor of Pride Month, Lauren talks about her journey exploring her own sexuality. She talks about the concept of "coming out," experimenting sexually with other women, threesomes, what the Bible has to say about homosexuality, some of her experiences growing up in the Bible Belt, and her hopes for a more compassionate world, where we accept and are gracious with ourselves and others. 

Today Lauren talks with Kady Guyton about growing up in Kansas during the "true love waits" movement and while "purity culture" was becoming mainstream. Kady talks about her experience in a protestant Christian family and community, her first sexual experience, and the time she spent dancing, as well as what relationships have looked like for her over the years.

In this episode, Lauren gets uncomfortably real about her struggles in monogamous relationships and how she's blown up essentially every one of her own in the most catastrophic ways. She questions whether or not life-long monogamy is still a realistic goal, or if there could be other ways of intimately relating.
