  • Let there be light!

S2 Ep 36: Let there be light is a declaration for my mother who suffers from a very rare optic neuritis disease, which is inflammation that damages the optic nerve in her eye that caused her to go blind Thursday, April 11, 2019. Let there be light is a public affirmation for my mother’s vision to be completely restored! I also talk about Facebook latest game craze “Profoundly”. The game allows people to ask questions or leave comments anonymously. The game has had both positive and negative effects on people with some questions and/or comments being very degrading, nasty and disrespectful. Some people have decided to not play because of the very hurtful things that have been said to others.

Also heard on Let there be light, I shed light on a very non existing relationship between my estranged father and I. I was invited to his wedding but I declined due to the lack of communication between him. I share a very heartfelt and honest text message that I sent him, requesting that he be a better father to me, only to be met with no response from my father.

Let there be light is a very emotional episode for me where I highlight real problems and situations that I face and a request for prayers and support during this time. Let there be light, is to put a spotlight on all situations, good or bad and to release the power of healing and restoration not only within my mom but in all my relationships.

Satoria details both her spiritual awakenings and what made her want to “Love Herself Louder”. Satoria shares real life stories and life traumas that she experienced that led her to creating “The Encouragement House,” a place coined by her friends because her house has always been a space where women could come and lay they burdens down.
From the pole to the podiums, Satoria affirmed her power of wanting to be a good mother thus changing her entire life to be the best women that she always knew she could be, launching her deeply into her career as a motivational speaker and life coach.
Satoria diminishes the popular phrase of “fake it til you make it,” anxiety being a mental state and not an illness and the ever so misconstrued term “hoe”.
Satoria believe that when you “Love You Louder” you’re able to take accountability for your own self and actions, thus living your life out loud and free of any outside judgement.

  • PSA: A citizens call to action!
S2 Ep 31 PSA: A citizens call to action!  Is a deceleration for ALL city of Norfolk residents, to come together and get involved in their communities!
If you’ve been following me or “This Is For My Ladies” Podcast (TIFML), you know that back in September, I launched a petition to install a traffic light at the intersection of Princess Anne Road and Majestic Avenue, after 12 year old Gregory Bateman Jr. was hit and killed while trying to cross the road at the crosswalk, after leaving Jordan Newby Anchor Branch Library at Broad Creek.
We are only six days away from the deadline to submit the Princess Anne Road Study survey.
The survey launched on January 31, 2019, after city council members came to an agreement on November 20, 2018 at Norfolk’s City Council meeting to put up a light after I attended several city hall meetings, pushing for the installation of the traffic light.
The survey can be completed online at: Norfolk.gov/pasurvey the deadline is 11:59pm on March 11, 2019.
This podcast is a call to action!
Your efforts can go beyond this survey, I’m challenging citizens to get active in their neighborhoods, join committees, civic leagues, PTA committees, school board committees, attend city hall meetings and exercise your power, presence and voice to speak up and out about the changes that you’d like to see within your neighborhoods and schools, especially city of Norfolk, particularly in 3rd Ward of Norfolk.

In my life, there have been times where I didn't practice EQ and it has gotten me in serious trouble with the law, but that was because I didn't know myself and my triggers.
As I grow more as a woman, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, friend, lover, pocaster and community leader, I know that there needs to be a healthy balance of my own emotions so that I'm never projecting any fears nor insecurities or anything that will not build, motivate or move people into their own personal power.
I share a personal story and reference moments in my life where I didn't practice being emotional intelligent; plus offering some tips on how to increase you Emotional Intelligence (EQ) for stronger relationships and
and professional success. I also sprinkle in a little useful tips to deal with toxic people and defamation.

Also heard in this interview, is Troy's journey and discovery of spirituality and how she grew up as a Jehovah's Witness and because her "lifestyle" and homosexuality not being accepted, caused her to part ways with the religion and come into her own understanding of self and her embarking on her own spirituality of what it is and means to her.
Currently, Troy is rebranding her business as she details the importance of investing in your dreams and following your passions. Troy truly believes in the saying, "Haste makes Waste," and how pivotal it is to take your time, not only while creating but when developing your craft and how taking the time out everyday, to work on your own personal dreams are stepping stones in reaching your end goals.
