We come off our Thanksgiving break rested and refreshed for another TigerTalk podcast. In this fifty-third (53rd) edition of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes NEMCC's Campus Country director and instructor of commercial music Chris Dunn to the podcast as he promotes his upcoming Showtime, "Evergreen," on Thursday, November 29. Dunn talks about how his singers select the pieces for the show and the diverse list of songs that will be performed during the 25-song setlist. In addition to talking about how the selections are made for Showtime material, Dunn gives a little insight into the lives of Campus Country members via social media and also what the group has been up to since we last talked to him prior to his September 29 Showtime. In the second half of this week's program, Kollmeyer welcomes softball players Austyn Holden and Harley Mullins to the podcast as they talk about all the community service that the Northeast Lady Tiger softball team will be doing during the holidays. From spreading Christmas and holiday cheer to residents of the area nursing and assisted-living facilities, to adopting an area family, to breakfast with Santa and reading to elementary school students throughout our five-county area, the Northeast softball team will be busy during the holidays. Kollmeyer wraps up the podcast with a new addition to the publication -- an extended version of what is coming up on campus that details events happening on and around the Northeast campus in a daily breakdown. It contains one of the most comprehensive lists of events and happenings on campus -- so if you have an event or happening on campus and want it mentioned on the podcast, please reach out. If you haven't subscribed to the podcast, now would be a good time to subscribe to stay up-to-date on all the happenings on the Northeast campuses and hear in-depth interviews with guests each week.

Registration for Spring 2019 classes is currently underway and classes will start on Tuesday, January 22 (instead of the traditional Monday due to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday). Short-term classes will run from January 22 through March 15 and from March 15 through May 10 while traditional classes run from January 22 until May 3. In the second half of this week's program, Kollmeyer welcomes Booneville native Alec Coats to the podcast to help us celebrate our veterans. Coats, who served in the United States Air Force for five years and is making his transition to the Air Force Reserves in Little Rock, Ark., is in his first semester as a student at Northeast and is taking advantage of everything the college has to offer. In addition to being an engineering student with some of the best faculty in the country, Coats also has his daughter enrolled in the NEMCC Childcare and is a worker in the Student Success Center.
