Its official the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the USC
Trojans played their first games of the season over the holiday weekend, and
both teams secured victories. We start this episode, right after Notre Dames’
Labor Day victory over the Louisville Cardinals. Things began shaky for the
Fighting Irish, but adjustments were made and the victory was sealed. The Notre
Dame secondary looked good, including the debut of freshman Kyle Hamilton, but
the offense lacked something. The USC Trojans on the other hand dealt with a completely
different set of problems when they faced off against the Fresno State
Bulldogs. Graham Harrell’s air raid offense had mixed results, but a season
ending injury to Trojan starting quarterback JT Daniels really got in the way of
the offensive game plan. However, after the injury to Daniels the USC running
backs looked more than capable of carrying the load. Even though it’s a new
season for the Trojans, this looked like a continuation of last year’s dismal
