TK331: A Star Wars EU/Legends Podcast

Today we take a slight detour and discuss Rogue Planet. A hidden planet at the edge of the galaxy is making ships like no one has ever seen before. Jedi Knight Vergere had been sent to investigate, but it’s been some time since she’s been heard from. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are sent to look for her. What they find is a planet unlike any other in the galaxy, and learn of a mysterious new enemy that could shake the foundations of the galaxy.

Today we discuss The Crystsal, a short story written to help bridge the gap between the Young Jedi Knights and New Jedi Order. The celebration at the Jedi Academy is coming to an end. Everyone is coming up with an answer to the question Luke asked all of them, what will they do next. Jaina decides she wants Aunt Mara to be her new master. Also, Han has a present for his daughter, one that he probably should have talked with Leia about first.

Today we discuss Crisis at Crystal Reef, the final book of the Young Jedi Knights series. Anja is in desperate need of spice. So she steals the Lightning Rod and heads to Kessel to get some. Her friends follow, but they uncover a Black Sun conspiracy that could shake the foundations of the New Republic.

Today we discuss Hutt and Seek, the next short story in Tales from the New Republic. Fenig Nabon and Ghitsa Dogder are a pair of smugglers and con artists. Their latest target, Durga the Hutt. And to pull the con off, they will enlist the help of the Mistryl, but the Mistryl have no idea what’s going on. Surely nothing will go wrong.

Today we discuss Trouble on Cloud City, the penultimate book of the Young Jedi Knights series. Lando is planning to open up a new theme park on Cloud City, and invites Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, Zekk, and Lowie to test it out. Anja comes too, but she’s struggling with her growing friendship with the twins and her hatred of Han Solo. She’s also getting low on spice, and only Czethros can supply her with more.

Today we discuss Gathering Shadows, the next short story in Tales from the New Republic. Two soldiers are in Imperial captivity. Both have been tortured and are having difficulty recalling basic facts, like their full names or members of their own family. Meanwhile, Platt and Tru’eb are trying to rescue the third member of their crew, not realizing that they will be attempting to save a second person as well.

Today we discuss Return to Ord Mantell, the next book in the Young Jedi Knights saga. Han returns to Ord Mantell with his children. While there, they learn about Anobis, a planet that has had a civil war going on for decades. The twins also make a new friend name Anja, though she blames Han for her father’s death. Together, with the help of the other young Jedi and their new friend, they try to help the war torn world. But there’s more going on than any of them know about on Anobis.

Today, we continue Tales from the New Republic with Jade Solitaire. Ja Bardrin needs both his daughter and her ship recovered. To make sure that happens, he threatens Talon Karrde’s crew, forcing Mara Jade to step up and do the dirty work.

Today we discuss The Emperor's Plague, the final book in the Diversity Alliance saga. Jacen, Jaina, and their friends have revealed the truth about the Diversity Alliance and its plans. The only question is, will the New Republic listen to them and do something about it. Everything leads to one final confrontation at an Empire weapons depot, where countless deadly plagues await our heroes. Not everyone will make it out of this fight alive.

Today we begin the Tales from the New Republic short story collection, starting with Interlude at Darkknell, written by both Timothy Zahn and Michael A. Stackpole, their second collaboration together. Information about the Tarkin Project has leaked. Senator Garm Bel Iblis and Field Operative Ysanne Isard both travel to Darkknell to retrieve it. Meanwhile, inspector Hal Horn has chased Moranda Savich to Darkknell. Their lives all intersect when Moranda is the first one to find the datacards.
