In this episode of 'Too Long, Didn't Read,' Kip Zeiter from the International Motor Racing Research Center discusses the iconic Purdy Deuce, a notable car in Oswego Speedway's history. Built in 1964 by Howard Purdy and Bob Hoxton, the car became dominant in mid-60s to early-70s supermodified racing, winning numerous races including the 1969 International Classic 200. After decades of inactivity, a restoration effort revived the car, culminating in its showcase at the 2021 International Classic with original driver Bentley Warren. The Purdy Deuce's history, its restoration, and its importance in motorsports are highlighted, along with upcoming events and discussions set for May 11th at the Steel Palace.
