One week from today is "D-Day" for the next U.S. House of Representatives chapter. That day is the day the House must choose its Speaker for the next legislative session. Also, January 9th is the day the Congress confirms the election of Donald Trump as President 47. Today, we discuss several things about these processes that are up in the air, including determining if Mike Johnson (R-LA) will keep the Speaker's spot or if a different House member will be chosen to assume the Speaker's role.
