I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 22nd of June, 2024, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. 

We start in 2 Timothy 1:12 out of the Amplified Bible:

“…….for I know Him [and I am personally acquainted with Him] whom I have believed [with absolute trust and confidence in Him and in the truth of His deity], and I am persuaded [beyond any doubt] that He is able to guard that which I have entrusted to Him until that day [when I stand before Him].

To know Him - I want to ask you a question today, my dear friend, do you know Jesus personally? Not as a historical figure, not as someone that somebody else tells you about. Have you personally met Him? You know Paul says in Philippians 3:10,

”that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,”

Jesus is alive, He is living, He is not dead, He is not some statute or some place where you go to worship Him. No, as I’m talking to you now, He is with me. He is in my prayer room right now and that is so exciting! I read a very special reading this morning by an unknown author and this is what he says,

”Personal acquaintance with Christ is a living thing. It’s like a tree that uses every hour for growth. It thrives in the sunshine, it is refreshed by the rain, even the storms drive it to fasten it’s grip more firmly in the earth for it’s support. So, troubled heart, in all experiences, say this comes that I may make closer acquaintance with my Lord.”

Father, I pray for my friends today. Lord Jesus, please be more real to them than you’ve ever been before. Lord, we need You now more than we have ever needed You before, and we need a personal touch from You. Please today, be even closer to us than a brother can be. We ask it in Your precious name, amen.
