Toaster Squad episodes

  • Toaster Squadcast EP76: Zurg Rush
The Squad has been thinned to two member this week, so Darren and Tyler set out on a quest to give you the juiciest episode they can. With our resident art master gone, now seems like the perfect time to talk about art styles in games. So that’s exactly what the guys do for ASA this week. They stick to their opinions since the seriousness can’t go above 9000. For the remainder of the show, the two monkeys discuss the state of the real time strategy (RTS) genre and some of their fondest memories playing them. They also get into where the genre should go to return to the masses.

  • Toaster Squadcast EP75: All In Person – Audio Warning
For the first time is a while the majority of the Squad is all in the same room. As always that means we have some major technical difficulty this episode that makes it sound like butt. This time around we have some minor echo in the audio, we apologize for the inconvenience. For ASA, Christian states what he believes to be an unpopular opinion, and we must try to convince him he’s a dummy. Then for the rest of the show, we talk about getting into PC gaming. Seeing as Zac just built a new PC.

  • Toaster Squadcast EP74: Flash Is Required To Play
The boys are one down this week as Christian prepares to make his way across the country to visit some of the Squad. In reality he perished in a Mario Kart accident. For ASA the boys discuss what developer they’d like to see work on games that they’d normally never get to work on. For example, Naughty Dog making a Halo game. For the remainder of the show, everyone goes on a hardcore nostalgia trip and are talking about flash games we used to play, and how they’re being replaced by mobile games.

  • Toaster Squadcast EP73: BlueHole Banhammer
Narrator man (Darren), wasn’t on the episode this week so he really has no idea what to put in this thing. According to J, ASA was about how boosted mid laners that aren’t from Korea would be if they were transplanted into the LCK. Personally I think a few of them would be able to hold their own, but I’ll let you hear their thoughts. For the rest of the show we talked about the recent ban of a popular streaming in PUBG and the aftermath.

  • Toaster Squadcast EP72: We Stream That
The boys are really mixing things up for the Squadcast this week. While recording it, we were streaming it as well. Be sure to check that out if it sounds interesting. For ASA, the boys tell Rito what champions should be added to the game. Some of the ideas are the stupidest s**t you’ll ever hear in your life. Then for the rest of the show, the boys talk about how the New 3DS is being discontinued in Japan. How will it affect the Switch and the rest of the DS line up?

  • Toaster Squadcast EP71: Crash In Mario Kart
What map would you want to see in PUBG? That’s what the Squad discusses for ASA this week, but we come up with a few more than planned along the way. For the reminder of the show, the boys talk about video games moving into other mediums, but this time movies aren’t involved. League and others to boards games is what’s on our platter.

  • Toaster Squadcast EP70: Loading Emulation….
The boys go over the recent patch to PUBG for ASA this week, seeing as we’ve been playing it a good amount recently. Lot’s has changed in this patch, and most of it is for the better. New weather, weapons, and lots more. Then for the rest of the show we dabble in some discussion about emulation. Is it hard? Is it worth it? Had Nintendo been doing a good job with the classic consoles? Let’s find out.

  • Toaster Squadcast EP69: Heh Heh
We’ve finally made it to the famed episode 69, and it didn’t go off the rails as much as we thought is would. Darren has the guys guessing the original prices of games on sale right now, finally brings a good ASA to the table after so many bad ones. The rest of our show constitutes a discussion about our favorite and least favorite game consoles over the years.

  • Toaster Squadcast EP68.5: Half An Episode, Not Half As Short
To continue the theme started last week, ASA is taking a break so we can fully focus on E3. Since we discussed EA and Microsoft last week, that leaves us with Bethesda, Ubisoft, Sony, and Nintendo. We start with Bethesda’s lackluster conference, it was mostly fluff with some good stuff towards the end. Tyler gives you the complete low down on Ubisoft. Then the 3 of us gush over Sony and Nintendo of half an hour!

  • Toaster Squadcast EP68: Threesome
That E3 smell is in the air, and it’s infected the Squadcast. No ASA this week, as we hop right into the first two conferences. EA and Microsoft are the ones who started everything off. EA talk is mostly sports, but we make sure to gloss over that and get on to the good stuff. Battlefront II looks amazing and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. Microsoft showed a lot of games, but not all of them were great. XB.O.X is also a thing apparently.
