Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a stark warning that Russia is "ready" for war if Europe seeks one, just hours before engaging in nearly five hours of unsuccessful peace talks with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Moscow on December 2-3, 2025. Speaking at an investment forum in Moscow, Putin accused European leaders of attempting to undermine US-led peace efforts in Ukraine by presenting demands that are unacceptable to Russia. He stated that Russia is not planning to go to war with Europe, but if Europe initiates one, Russia is prepared. Putin also warned that a European-started war could escalate to a point where negotiations would no longer be possible. He claimed that changes made by Europeans to the US draft peace plan were intended to completely block the peace process.

According to a memo released by White House physician Captain Sean Barbabella on December 1, 2025, advanced imaging scans (MRI) of President Trump's heart and abdomen showed "perfectly normal" results. Imaging was "perfectly normal," with "no evidence of arterial narrowing impairing blood flow or abnormalities in the heart or major vessels". Heart chambers were normal in size, vessel walls appeared smooth and healthy, and there were no signs of inflammation or clotting.
