Rogers Sports & Media has permanently closed six local news and sports radio stations across Canada, eliminating 230 positions. The company cited declining audience numbers and a sharp drop in advertising revenue as the reasons behind the sudden restructuring.
Of the 230 layoffs, 80 directly impact on-air and production staff at the affected stations, while the remaining 150 cuts hit corporate, television, and other operational divisions.
