Who does God say Jesus is? What does that mean for my life? Let’s find out from Peter’s Pentecost sermon in Acts 2!
Dan and Robert begin a study through the book of Acts, focusing on The Jesus They Knew. Acts is really all about Jesus, and the message of Jesus being spread throughout the world. It’s a wonderful success story! As the book of Acts opens, Dan and Robert note that “the Jesus they knew” was only getting started (from the first half of chapter one). Then, the example of the apostles replacing Judas demonstrates how to make good decisions when the stakes are high.
It can be tempting to skip over the end of Paul’s epistles. You know, the parts where he mentions people with names that are hard to pronounce and who are basically obscure in the story of Scripture. However, there is much to learn here about the tie that binds us together and the blessings of that fellowship! Join Dan and Robert for a discussion of Colossians 4:2-18. Programming note: This is the season finale for season five of “Today With Jesus.” We will be back in August for season 6: “The Jesus They Knew” (studies in Acts). Hope you will join us then!
There is a massive shift in our lives if Christ is our everything. This change manifests itself in how we feel and how we interact with others. Colossians 3:12–4:1 is all about cultivating a heart for Jesus.
Jesus changes everything! Because we love Jesus and want to be with Jesus, we will put away the passions of our past to live with him and for him. Dan and Robert break down Colossians 3:5-11 in a practical way to highlight the necessity (and the process) of putting away the old self.
How do I make Jesus my everything? Dan and Robert offer seven observations to consider as they discuss Colossians 3:1-4.
Colossians 2:20-23 offers a demonstration of legalism. What is it? Are you a legalist? How should we respond to people who are legalistic? Dan and Robert discuss “What Legalism Looks Like” this week on Today With Jesus.
Making application from Colossians 2:16-19, Dan and Robert discuss the biblical view of opinions and what we should do with matters about which God has not specifically spoken.
Three word pictures in Colossians 2:11-15 communicate the blessing that comes when we submit to the gospel command to be baptized.
It is imperative that we learn the difference between the gospel of Jesus and the traditions of men. On this episode, Dan and Robert dig into Colossians 2:8-10 to discover what happens when people claim authority they don’t have to bind regulations that Jesus never taught.
