And whom better to turn to than the hipster mavens of double-entendre, irreverent post-punk duo Wet Leg? Get in on the infectious diatribe that is “Wet Dream.”

To kick off the festivities, we turn to Puerto Rican, LA-based artist Pachy Garcia, best known as Pachyman to fans. A lifelong student and lover of dub/reggae, Pachyman packs a punch as both a one-man band and accompanied by his group, as we witnessed at the Hammer Museum for KCRW’s Summer Nights and on his 3 Song Story on FREAKS ONLY. When Leeds outfit Yard Act released their debut album earlier this year, little did they know they would make a massive fan out of the legendary icon Sir Elton John, but he began telling the press about them. With nothing to lose, Yard Act reached out and asked if Sir Elton would like to join them on piano, which turned out to be just who you hear on the newly-recorded version of “100% Endurance.”

“‘New Summers’ refers to a life change,” the band says. “The post effects of a childhood home being sold. There was a distinct nostalgic feeling with this home in the summer. Swimming, family gatherings, ice cream trucks, hot concrete and skating. With the house gone, ‘New Summers’ music paints the picture of the vibrant summers that once were, but the lyrics highlight the darker and sadder tones of having to accept the loss and fading of old times,” all in an upbeat happy way.
