Detective Knox meets with Assistant District Attorney Jacobs to go over upcoming trials. Jacobs warns Knox to rein in Detective Shelley, who has earned a reputation for his thoroughness with accused wife beaters.  

Lizzy finally returns to campus for a calculus quiz. 

Shelley winds up his interview of Erin Winslow, while Knox shares his thoughts on parenting with Amanda, 

Detective Shelley takes a tour of the University of Gemson campus and talks to Lizzy's roommate Erin Winslow. Erin tells Shelley what she knows about Lizzy and Johnny Greene.

Knox makes his weekly rounds with his section chiefs and discusses Shelley's new case with Violent Crime Unit Chief Pete Walden. 

Head Coach Chuck Tannter of the Gemson football team gives his team a demonstration of proper tackling, while Johnny Greene regales his friends with his latest conquest, Lizzy Cooper. 

Detective Shelley goes to his mentor Detective John Knox for advice on the Johnny Greene case. Knox has reservations but encourages his young former partner to continue his investigation. 

Lizzy tells Gemson Police Detective Detrick Shelley about the party and Johnny Greene. 

Cooper wakes up to his daughter Lizzy knocking on the front door. She tells him what happened at the party the night before and what Johnny Greene did to her.
