In which we discuss the royal family’s commemoration of VE Day, fashion and gossip from the Met Gala (mostly gossip), as well as rumors swirling around F1 and the FIA. For the topic of the week we ostensibly discuss fashion differences between the UK and Us but really dive into Sumner’s worst fear: being recognized as an American while abroad. We wrap up with Your Friends and Neighbors S1 E2
Prince Louis Trolling Prince George
Prince George Meeting a WWII Vet
Doechii Exiting Her Hotel at the Met
”If My Grandmother Had Wheels She Would Be A Bicycle”

We wrap up the Madrid Open, sharing scores as well as some important tournament lore, then dive into the new Netflix doc, Carlos Alcaraz: My Way, sharing our thoughts on a hard watch that was meant to be a puff piece. We then touch down in Miami for the F1 gp. The race was boring so we focus on the WAGs and some race adjacent antics. We wrap up quickly with David Beckham’s 50th birthday party/ies as well as some content recommendations. We will be back next episode with S1E5 of Your Friends and Neighbors.
The Hidden Struggle of John Fetterman by Ben Terries (link is in front of paywall. Yw!)
In which we discuss the rousing results of the Canadian election, our plans to cover the upcoming conclave, the deeply unsettling footage coming out of Katy Perry’s Lifetimes tour, Jalen Hurts staying hot both in looks and integrity, a Bill Belichick wellness check, Lewis Hamilton’s new partnership, Ferrari’s worst livery ever for Miami, Madrid Open results, and BREAKING NEWS about Jannik Sinner’s new girlfriend. For our US vs UK topic of the week we discuss secondary/high school and the mysterious “A Levels” that these Brits have to take to get into college. We end with a touch base on the 5th and final season of You on Netflix, the photos released from the upcoming Austin Butler/Zoe Kravitz film Caught Stealing. We end with the news that, come July, this will become a The Summer I Turned Pretty podcast.
In which we discuss housekeeping for episode cadence moving forward, the glorious weather in NYC this week, the abundance of blue suits at the Pope’s funeral as well as Alexa’s visceral reaction to blonde’s wearing veils, and another troubling update re: Elizabeth Hurley + Billy Ray Cyrus. In the world of sports we discuss troubling news for Lewis Hamilton’s investment portfolio, George Russell’s bizarre yet transfixing lawn mower ad, Alexa puts Sumner to the test with a constructor’s sponsorship quiz (preview: she does very poorly), and some tennis news + gossip from the Madrid Open. On the content front we cover S1E4 of Your Friends and Neighbors on Apple TV+, the trailer for upcoming French show Carême (premiering on Apple TV+ on 4/30). Sumner recommends The Stolen Queen by Fiona David as a propulsive, easy read. We end with another round of US-UK translation.
In which we discuss how we met and the intentions behind this podcast, the Easter jump-scares given to us all by JD Vance, Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus, the quickest of check-ins on men's tennis and F1, the cultural differences between Coachella and Glastonbury, S1 E3 of Your Friends and Neighbors, Ryan Coogler's Sinners, The Favorites by Layne Fargo, and some trailers for upcoming content. We finish with a yet-to-be-titled US to UK translation segment.
In which we discuss Katy Perry girl-bossing too close to the sun on the all-women’s Blue Origin flight, major locker room drama in the tennis world, the less-boring-than-Japan Bahrain GP, our reactions to the first confirmed cast members for the upcoming Harry Potter series on Max, an early review of Apple TV+’s new show starring Jon Hamm, Your Friends and Neighbors, and a check-in with The Studio. Lastly, because we seek to be intellectual (sometimes), we recommend 2 recent magazine articles of interest.
Discussing Glen Powell's new Sauces, British SNL, Japan GP, Monte Carlo Masters, Jack Draper x Burberry, White Lotus Finale, The Studio & Dying for Sex
Finally found a man of whom we approve— Senator Cory Booker. Meghan Markle, unfortunately, gives us more reasons to be upset. Alexa has heard of 3 of the 4 actors cast in the upcoming Sam Mendes Beatles biopics. Another shout out to show of the year, Adolescence. No F1 updates but we discuss another demand letter circulating throughout professional tennis and the launch of Coco Gauff’s new management agency. White Lotus S3 E7 recap as well as new content recommendations from both hosts.
Discussing the news of the moment - USA war plans being shared on a group chat like a bunch of teenage girls - male fragile egos at their finest, Meghan and Harry being total losers as usual, and very different vibes on Kylie Kelce, Call her Daddy and Khloe Kardashian podcasts, F1 and Tennis Updates, and a short White Lotus recap.
