Greetings, Tomb Believers!
This week on the ALL-NEW, ALL-DIFFERENT TOMB OF IDEAS, we’re embarking on a multi-episode story arc! At long last (and apparently with much listener excitement, if our social media is to be believed) we are talking all about FRANKEN-CASTLE. That’s right, we’re talking about that time right in the midst of the Dark Reign era when The Punisher aka Frank Castle went and got himself killed, so the Legion of Monsters turned him into a patchwork monster. In this first installment, we are covering the first four issues of the story arc:
Don’t forget, we love hearing from listeners! This story arc moved up the list specifically because due to interest from our followers. So if you have any requests, comments, questions, or other feedback you can reach us at [email protected]. We can also be found at our Facebook page, on Twitter @TombofIdeas, and now on Instagram @tombofideas!

Podcast Log, Stardate 47634.44
In their ongoing mission to explore the spookiest corners of the Marvel Universe, Captain James Hickson and Commander Trey Lawson have encountered a pair of strange, new comic book issues that are taking them where no podcast has gone before.
Well, okay – lots of podcasts have gone there before, because we’re talking about STAR TREK! But this is the first time we here at Tomb of Ideas have gotten to dig into some Star Trek comics – and we have some fun (and thematically appropriate) ones for you this week. In this episode, we discuss Marvel’s STAR TREK vol 1 issues 4 and 5, in which the Enterprise encounters a haunted mansion floating in the depths of space. To help us dissect these comics we’ve beamed in podcaster extraordinaire Andrew Leyland of The Palace of Glittering Delights, The Overlooked Dark Knight, and more!
As always, you can send any comments, questions, or other feedback to [email protected]. Plus, be sure to follow us on our Facebook page and on Twitter @TombofIdeas. The podcast adventure is just beginning.

This week continues our exploration of the late 1990s Man-Thing storyline that began with MAN-THING vol 3. First, we wrap up that volume with issues 7 and 8, followed by the Man-Thing stories in STRANGE TALES vol 4 #1 and 2 and, finally, PETER PARKER: SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL 1999.
In addition to that, we are joined by the writer on all of those comics – J. M. DeMatteis! He tells us all about the genesis of this Man-Thing run, his creative process with artist Liam Sharp, and much more. Plus we hear all about the new line of comics DeMatteis is launching alongside an all-star roster of artistic collaborators: The DeMultiverse!
You can find out more (and order the books for yourself) via the DeMultiverse Kickstarter campaign, or US readers can also order directly from Spellbound Comics.

Greetings, Tomb Believers!
This October in the Tomb, Cineween is HOWL-oween! We’re kicking off the spooky season with the brand-new, officially official, canonically MCU event on Disney+: WEREWOLF BY NIGHT! That’s right – none of that “it’s connected because Michael Keaton showed up for two minutes at the end” nonsense (yep, we’re talking to you MORBIUS). The Marvel Monsters are finally part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe! In this episode Trey and James give their initial reactions to the special and its implications for the future of Marvel movies and shows.
For this special event, they are joined by friend of the show Thomas Maluck, a librarian, critic, and scholar when it comes to all things comics, graphic novels, and manga. So pop some popcorn (or, like us, indulge in some thematically appropriate Moon Pies), and join us to find out if WEREWOLF BY NIGHT’s bite lives up to its bark!

Greetings, Tomb Believers!
Trey and James are back, and once again they have inadvertently conjured a special guest from beyond the veil (i.e., Texas). This week your intrepid hosts are joined by Drew Edwards – he’s a Best of Austin winner, co-host of the Castle of Horror podcast, a Ringo-nominated comic book writer, and the creator of HALLOWEEN MAN COMICS. In addition to talking up the new Indiegogo campaign for HALLOWEEN MAN MEETS LATEX AVENGER CROSSOVER: COFFEE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, Drew joins in the discussion on our two oversize comics for this week: GIANT-SIZE DRACULA #2 and DRACULA LIVES #8. Plus, we sink our fangs into all things Marvel Cinematic news in an all-new installment of Hellstromwatch!
You can follow Drew on Twitter, and follow this link to check out the Indiegogo campaign. The Castle of Horror podcast can be found here, or wherever you normally look for podcasts.

Greetings, Tomb Believers!
We’re back…from beyond the grave! And to celebrate, Trey and James are acquiescing to listeners’ requests – nay, listeners’ DEMANDS! – and sitting down to watch the 2022 Sony Pictures Releasing film MORBIUS. But if you want to hear what they think, you’ll have to watch it too! That’s right, this episode is a feature-length audio commentary designed to sync up with the film. All you need to do is start our episode, wait for us to tell you to hit play on MORBIUS, and you should be good to go. We’ll get back to our regularly scheduled comic book reading next time, but when a film is released based on one of our beloved Marvel Monsters we just can’t let it pass us by. So pop some popcorn and cue up the VOD – it’s time for frights, camera, action!
