I think it's fair to say that Tommy Boy might be one of the most quotable comedies of all-time. There's a certain lighting-in-a-bottle energy here that neither Farley or Spade were ever quite able to capture again. It's all the more impressive given the chaotic circumstances this was assembled under, the frequent bickering between the two leads, and the fact that a lot of this was being made up as they went along. Although it's quoted endlessly, it had been a long time since any of us had actually seen the film. And for a couple of us, there were some interesting surprises.
