Tony Evans' Sermons - Audio

The Bible says that God has given us a new nature, but many of us are too busy struggling with our old nature to notice it. Wednesday on The Alternative, Tony Evans will explain why we can’t manufacture our own spiritual maturity and fire up our passion for real progress.

Tuesday on The Alternative, Tony Evans says that making the most of what old hymns call the “sweet by-and-by” depends on the preparations we make here and now. It’s a look at how to nurture the divine seed God put within us when we’re saved.

The promise of Christianity is that one day we’ll go to spend eternity in glory with Jesus Christ. But Tony Evans says we’re already making that journey and Monday on The Alternative, he’ll talk about the preparations we should be making along the way.

When a problem becomes such a big problem that it becomes more than a problem, Tony Evans says that it can actually turn into a curse. Sunday on The Alternative, he points out that the crisis of fatherlessness in America lives up to that description and explains what we can do to reverse it.

Tony Evans says that it’s pretty easy to spot a Christian who looks the part, but not as easy to spot one who lives the part – a believer who’s authentic through and through. Friday on The Alternative, you’ll discover how to become that kind of disciple as we explore Jesus’ challenge to be authentic.

A lot of people want what Jesus offers without doing what Jesus says. Thursday on The Alternative, Tony Evans will explain why that strategy doesn’t work as he talks about how the Lord uses His “keys to the kingdom” to unlock doors for obedient believers.

Increasing your Christian commitment isn’t a matter of just taking on more activities. Tony Evans says it calls for something deeper than that. Wednesday on The Alternative, he’ll reveal what makes the difference between being in ministry and just being in motion.

It’s a delicate balancing act to love sinners and still hate sin. But Tony Evans says that’s what the Bible tells us to do, and Tuesday on The Alternative, he’ll offer us some practical, biblical advice on how to be caring without compromising.

Sometimes, the church’s efforts to bring more people in can wind up pushing God’s Word out. Monday on The Alternative, Tony Evans talks about the reasons why we’re tempted to “dumb down” God’s standards and the dangers in store when we do.
