Too Many Comics

This week, Brooks and Alan read Worst X-Man Ever with Alan forcing Brooks to share (off the top of his head) who he thinks the worst X-Man might be.

After last week's show, the follow up poured in courtesy of a previously mentioned listener, Comic Book Resources and the latest Fantastic Four movie. In other news, a lot of people have been cast to play in upcoming comic book TV series. Also, Stela offers a new way to read comics.

Other books discussed: Saga; Shonen Jump; Rumble; We Can Never Go Home; Hawkeye; Violent; All New X-Men; Archie; and Preacher.

Next week's Debut Review:

• Black Widow #1

Other books discussed: We Can Never Go Home, We Are Robin, Robin: Son of Batman, Last Sons of America, X-Men, and Preacher.

Next week's Debut Review:

• X-Men Worst X-man Ever #1 (of 5) - Bailey Hoskins has just discovered he's a mutant. For someone who's never been special, never stood out, discovering he's 'gifted' is truly a gift-entry into the halls of Xavier's School for Gifted Children and into the ranks of the world-famous X-Men! Unfortunately...Bailey might just be the worst X-Man ever. Max Bemis, frontman of the band Say Anything, kicks off his first Marvel miniseries by teaming with stellar artist Michael Walsh (SECRET AVENGERS, HANK JOHNSON) to bring us the story of a misfit among misfits

Last week, Brooks and Alan debated on which new series to read this week. Turns out, they chose wrong. Listen in on their review of Jonesy #1, as well as Trespasser #1 (out of Alterna Comics).

Elsewhere, the two talk Deadpool, Super Bowl trailers, Pokemon lists, and Brian K. Vaughan's Orbital in Conversation appearance.

Other books discussed: The Wicked + The Divine; Descender; Old Man Logan; and Dark and Bloody.

Next week's Debut Review:

• Snowfall #1 - Writer JOE HARRIS (The X-Files) and artist MARTÍN MORAZZO (Vertigo Quarterly), creators of GREAT PACIFIC, reunite for a brand new ongoing science-fiction series and an OVERSIZED DEBUT ISSUE featuring thirty-two pages of story! In the year 2045 it no longer snows. A catastrophic crash has left the climate ravaged, society splintered, and the newly-christened 'Cooperative States of America' propped up and administered by the powerful Hazeltyne Corporation. Only one man wages an all-out weather war against the system, wielding the forces of nature themselves as weapons. He is the White Wizard. The ghost in the night. Genius. Terrorist. Outlaw. Hero?

In the 50th episode, Brooks & Alan review Mirror #1 from Image, discuss a soon-to-be-posted Interview Spectacular with Justin Ryan, the Descender movie and much more.

Books discussed this week: Trespasser; Universe!; Uncanny X-Men; and Paper Girls.

Next week's Debut Review:

• Jonesy - Jonesy is a self-described 'cool dork' who spends her time making zines nobody reads, watching anime, and listening to riot grrrl bands and 1D simultaneously. But she has a secret nobody knows. She has the power to make people fall in love! Anyone. With anything. She's a cupid in plaid. With a Tumblr. There's only one catch-it doesn't work on herself. She's gonna have to find love the old-fashioned way, and in the meantime, figure out how to distract herself from the real emotions she inevitably has to face when her powers go wrong...
