We start out by reading an article explaining all about the strange world of ASMR. We learn that people get brain boners while listening to the sounds of people eating crunchy food or
sucking meat off chicken bones.
There are thousands of YouTube videos and the online cult of ASMR is massive.
Only part of the population “gets” ASMR. Those who do get it experience a tingling sensation produced by ASMR that could be tiny seizures.
We learn about a Russian woman by the name of Maria who goes by the handle https://www.youtube.com/user/GentleWhispering. She constantly whispers and sounds like she is on the verge of crying.
She has reached over 6 Million views on her YouTube Channel.
Marcella is attempting some whispering and slobbering. We are having a really hard time trying to be serious.
We learn the sounds of eating can produce “Braingasms”.
We then attempt to make some noises like pouring drinks, but cannot help bursting into laughter because we clearly have no idea what we are doing, even though we came super prepared.

We try to crunch on frozen grapes, carrots, peppers, pickles, apples, celery, green peppers etc.
Somehow the conversation turns to a poop song that we have to play, and then turns to really crazy talk.
We end the show trying to crunch on more vegetables.

“ALWAYS AND FOREVER”
The last episode of Season 1 – everyone is super disappointed that there were not more episodes because everyone loved the show so much.
The show starts with a recap of all dance competitions and Justin says that with success comes baggage.
Then there are all the Marcella scenes recaps.
We see Kiana very worried if she will make the team.
Then there are the recaps of all Justin family scenes with his sisters.
Justin announces the Alyssa Edwards ONE WOMAN SHOW.
He has to prepare for that and also for the Winter Show, which is kind of like a recital – a show for friends and family for the Beyond Belief Dance Studio.
Justin says that Winter Show is the real competition because it is internal. The kids are competing against each other. He then announces that the Elite Teams will be smaller next season, which puts extra stress on the Moms.
Justin is so happy that there has been so much positive progress with his sisters and his dream is that they will come to his one woman show to watch him perform.
Dance Mom Gina and Justin get into a huge fight.
We discuss how hard it is on a parent to always accept the coaches decisions, because we want to protect our children.
Dawn defends Justin and says that he is the kindest person and wants the best for everyone but when backed in a corner by Dance Moms he can have a wicked tongue.
Justin is the bigger person and apologizes.
We see the One Woman Show and Justin’s sisters are there cheering him on in the front row and it is so great to see their relationship repaired.
Now Justin says he has to repair one more relationship and it is with Marcella. He says Marcella is a beautiful soul and she was going through a lot.
We see Marcella drive up and bring lunch and Justin says that he really believes they make a great Duo just like it was intended from the beginning and if she wants to come back he would love to have her back.
He said that he needs someone and she is such a big asset to him and that he will have her back and she needs to have his back.
He tells her to sleep on it and to let him know.
Everyone hopes for Season 2 and Gabrielle tries to find out from Marcella what decision she made but she refuses to tell us and says everyone will have to wait to find out.
We see Winter Show where it is very stressful backstage, because everyone wants to make the team but there will be cuts.
Gabrielle tells some behind the scenes from the Winter show.
Next Seasons elite Company is announced except for the last spot.
Justin says he is not ready to make that decision and then says he will have an open audition for it.
We cannot even imagine how many people will show up for that.
No one really knows what decision Justin will make. He might start over and nobody’s spot is guaranteed. Who knows.
Alyssa with the popcorn is our favorite scene and the show and the first season ends with a tongue pop.
To end our we read an article written by Decider Magazine about when there will be Season 2.

“REIGNING SUPREME”
We talk about Justin praying a lot throughout the episodes and he prays with the kids and he is very spiritual. He talks about that he had a dream that one day he will see his name in lights.
How right he is.
Gabrielle gets teary and Marcella and Whitley say they have never seen her so teary so often as she is during Dancing Queen, but she explains that she gets emotional because it is so wonderful to see someone’s dream become reality right before your eyes.
Then we watch Justin go into the recording studio to record his first original song.
Marcella notes how Justin is so unbelievably confident and she wishes she had some of that. She says she would be so nervous, while Justin looks like he has done this his entire life.
We talk about how funny it is when Justin calls Edgar for everything.
Then we see the studio rehearsing to go to Arkansas.
Then we see Justin getting ready for his trip to Spain and Edgar and Chris Sapphire are helping him pack. Chris puts on the humongous blonde wig and it makes him feel skinny. He says he never wants to do drag and we don’t understand why because we all think he is so pretty and would make a beautiful woman.
Upon arriving in Barcelona Justin is super sleep deprived, but he believes that you don’t just “DREAM IT, JUST BE IT” and that means the show must go on without sleep.
There are 1000’s of people lined up and so excited to meet Alyssa. Her performance is unbelievable and after getting off the stage the adrenaline rush is real and Alyssa says
“I DID THAT – A LITTLE GAY BOY FROM MESQUITE TEXAS, I DID THAT”.
Of course this makes Gabrielle all teary again.
Back in Mesquite Justin is standing in his bathroom, elated, exhausted and excited saying a quiet prayer.
We see his sister Tiffany calling him to congratulate him on his new song and we can tell that makes him super happy.
The Dance Mom’s and kids are getting ready to go on the bus to Arkansas and nobody can fit their stuff and Justin shakes his head and wonders why everything has to be a cluster fuck whenever they do anything.
Then the scenes inside the bus which turned into a party bus and everyone was having a blast.
Justin tells that even though so many amazing things are happening in his life and career he feels like he is just getting started.
By writing in his journal he has learned a lot and he is very, very, very forgiving.
Then we all talk about dance competitions and how exhausting those weekends are.
We talk about the Barbie Box prop falling apart and the Moms fixing it with one of their shoes.
Justin announces that BEYOND BELIEF IS IN THE HOUSE. He is then seen being very encouraging to the kids before they go on stage.
We see the competition and we are super excited when we spot glimpses of some of the costumes that Whitley made when Marcella owned Prestige Dance and Molly and Kennedy are wearing them on stage during their performances. She is so talented and to see her creations on world wide TV made all of us very proud.
Leah’s Solo was breathtaking as was Willow’s very last performance on the competition stage which is always such an emotional moment. We see Ainsley with her Barbie Box and then beautiful Kiana who performs her solo exceptionally great.
Marcella talks about that being told NO makes you more resilient and teaches you life lessons, especially in the dance industry where you hear lots of “NO” all the time.
The episode ends with Justin announcing “WE CAME, YOU SAW, WE CONQUERED”

This episode starts with Justin announcing that Marcella quit and we see another glimpse of her crying.
Dawn has to take over and cover for Marcella and she stays very positive.
Everyone is preparing for https://dancecelebrity.com/ . This convention only allows 8 dancers to perform their solos.
Justin picks the 8 Soloists and tells Kiana that she is not going because of her Solo not looking good in LA. Anjie, Kiana’s Mom gets mad and rolls her eyes and Justin is not having it and Anjie immediately apologizes.
Kiana says she feels punished.
Anjie and Kiana are in tears and decide to take Kiana’s solo to the convention as an independent entry.
Anjie gets very emotional because she says Kiana never asks for anything and gets the least attention in the family, because of her 2 siblings with disabilities and she really wants to do this for her.
Then we see https://www.laganjaestranja.com and Alyssa having a blast at a wig store and they break out dancing to one of Ru Paul songs. We love it.
Then we see Justin and Dawn rehearsing the solos for the convention. We see Riley., Gabe and Brooke’s solos. Brooke struggles with her front aerial.
Justin’s 3 sisters come to his new house. Justin promises that he will make every effort to get his family back together. When his 4th sister shows up you can tell how happy Justin is and what a miracle it is for him.
Most memorable of that scene is when Justin says to his sisters that he feels so bad because they have been through so much and they say so have you and he says, BUT I WAS STRONG ENOUGH.
Justin is a big believer in breaking the chain.
We see Alyssa in the humongous blonde wig looking gorgeous and yelling EDGAR, EDGAR, EDGAR, EDGAR at every turn. We think it is so funny.
Alyssa performs at Monty’s and we see her laying on the floor and dollar bills are falling like raindrops. Our favorite part is how she always ends in this incredible death drop.
Then we see the dancers performing on stage at Celebrity. We see glimpses of Molly and Kennedy and then we see Willow perform her solo and she is breathtaking.
Brooke performs her solo perfectly, but she has a music mishap and gets 5 points deducted.
We discuss how hard it is to put the music together for competitions and conventions and Gabrielle says she feels bad for Dawn. Brooke didn’t place because of this mistake and Justin gets very mad and we see Dawn, Brooke and her Mom in tears.
As always Justin finds the good in this situation, takes the responsibility himself and says he should have checked the music himself.
He says the life lesson for everyone is that NO Brooke didn’t deserve this but the show must go on.
We see Gabe’s solo, Riley’s solo and Kiana’s solo. Kiana’s solo was amazing and Justin says that what she did was very Alyssa Edwards of her.
Episode 6 – “Dragsgiving”
We see the kids getting ready to perform with Alyssa at the Rose Room Theatre in Dallas and we get to see Athena again. She is so precious. The kids perform with Alyssa to her original song and the cameras zoom in on Athena at the end
of the performance and we cannot handle her cuteness.
Justin says that he learned from his mentor Ru Paul that drag is now Main Stream and it is a very special moment for Justin to be able to combine his 2 worlds and perform in drag on the same stage with the kids.
Whitley and Gabrielle announce that they want to get dressed in drag and have Haus of Edwards cutie Dillon Del Toro do their Make Up. Marcella just wants him to do her Make up.
The kids and Justin are preparing for https://www.showbiztalent.com/ and they are rehearsing a brand new group dance. Riley is having trouble with a lift and Justin sternly tells her if she wants to be a leader she has to use her words. Gabrielle says that scene gives her anxiety because all the Dance Moms are in the room watching.

After that you see Justin rehearsing all the Senior Solos and we are introduced to Gabe, Kiana and Willow
Justin inspires us how he has made it his mission to never forget where he came from and how that makes him even more likable.
He then shares his sister troubles and how after years of hard work he felt guilty about his success but then he realized that Destiny and Faith got him to this point and that he wanted to seize the moment.
He is a big believer that you have to “BREAK THE CHAIN” from your past and to not follow in the footsteps of your family if they were on a bad path.
The show cuts to the music video and this time it is to Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball, who is one of Justin’s really close friends.
During the video he takes off all his drag Make Up and we find this extremely touching, emotional and very powerful.
The next scene is Justin and Marcella at Fuel City where they talk about that if everyone would just leave them alone they could create a Dynasty. Marcella tells Justin that the Mom’s just don’t like her and refuse to give her a chance.
Justin wants so badly for Marcella to feel like Beyond Belief is her home – Gabrielle tells that these scenes made her cry.

THE MOST EMOTIONAL SHOW EVER – Gabrielle never even cries but cried several times in this episode – what an emotional tearjerker.
The show starts with the LA awards where Riley takes 2nd in the Teen category, and Molly gets 3rd, Gabe 2nd and Willow gets 1st.
Then they show the group competition
Back in Mesquite we see Marcella still getting extreme push back from the Mini Mom’s which makes Marcella decide to just not deal with them at all.
They kept trying to push her buttons. Alyssa says the mini moms are like cats that have unleashed on Marcella
Marcella has the weight of the world on her shoulders and is exasperated.
The show goes back to LA for the group awards.

Justin and his sister Tiffany are finally together and this scene is one of the most emotional of the whole series so far. There is no dry eye in the house.They decided to put their hatred behind them and they want to go visit their Mom’s grave together.
Group meeting with Marcella and the Mini Mom’s leaves Marcella in a puddle of tears.
Marcella ends up saying she cannot do this any longer.
Justin says that for the first time he realizes that there is so much hurt and pain that Marcella is not in a place where she should teach and that she needs time to heal first. He is very sad and says that he did not hope that for either one of them.

Valerie Wilhelm is back and she shares her major revelation that is fueled by her experience with domestic violence.
Valerie also tells us that she has grabbed this podcast as a platform to tell her story. She has consistently shared her podcast all over social media.
We share some of the private emails that Valerie’s husband wrote to her a few weeks before he committed suicide.
It shows how manipulative abuse is and the ups and downs that come with it.
Valerie tried for 13 1/2 years to save her husband but during the last few weeks of his life she had to start trying to save her kids, because the abuse was
reaching a level that became dangerous for everyone.
When people ask her why she would share such private moments she says she feels it is important to show the level of words of communication when living in abuse.
To show how twisted life can become. To show so much hate one week and so much pure love the next week. The emails stun all of us.
We discuss how hard it is for people to understand abuse that have never been through it .
Because of some of the content in those private emails we discuss how hard it is to raise a child, how much work it entails and often it is underestimated, expected and unappreciated.
Some of the words in the emails are so scathing and mean that Valerie tries to find humor even in the most cruel moments, which has become a way of survival for her living through it for so many years.
Valerie wishes that the healthy Jeff Wilhelm would be here so that the world could see what a fun, kind, loving person he could be at times and the reason why she had 4 children with him.
She says that he just could not fight anymore in the summer of 2015 and sometimes it is even worse for her now, than it was right after it happened. We tell her it is because reality sets in, after the shock wears off.
We hear how much strain and issues the probate court is causing for her and her children because the ex wife and the first born children of Jeff want part of their home etc.
As victims of a violent crime there is nothing to protect them by law. She thanks her Mom and Dad, or they would be homeless.
Valerie’s counselor has encouraged her to use social media to open up and share her story. It has not only helped her not to feel so alone and isolated, but has also helped others to become brave and come forward.
The power of social media has a toxic side but everyone can choose to ignore that and it can keep you connected and reminds you to check on your friends and reach out.
Valerie tells us that the aftermath of living in domestic violence is very ,very real and shame is a horrible load to carry.

Today she is very emotional because she misses the good times that she had with Jeff that produced 4 beautiful children and her dream of the life behind the white picket fence.
She still believes that he was her soulmate, despite how ugly things got and is afraid she will not meet anyone else.
She feels she was back in the dating world way too soon and she was not growing and couldn’t handle things. She felt as if she were suffocating in her new relationship and recognized some important red flags, that made her end it. She is sad about the breakup but feels it is better this way.
Her 4 children were not ready for her to be in a relationship either. They need all of her as they are all still dealing with and trying to heal from all the trauma they experienced.
Valerie absolutely floors us as she describes her vision to build an empire. She has been working on starting a non profit organization called “She wears the Heels”, which is for self care for women coming out of abuse.
She is planning to have a fun run or walk for the organization and wants both men and women to run or walk in heels and there will be red flags checkpoints throughout the walk so everyone can be aware and learn all the signs.
She has also created a cleaning service called “Bless This Mess” and is an Organizational Consultant and she will gutter your clutter.
We pay tribute to the owner of the Anger Room who got killed by her abusive ex boyfriend. She was an organ donor and saved 7 lives.
Valerie tells a story where she experienced an angel and the devil within a couple of hours.

We welcome back Ashley Cook who is a dual diagnosis therapist and Nicolette Pianelli who is a recovering addict and has been sober for 20 months.
We get to sit in and experience a live therapy session. The bravery and honesty to be so open for the world to see is beyond words. Nicolette says that for the past 5 years she has seen a lot of therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists and she always felt that they did not care and just wanted to prescribe medicine.
When Nicolette met Ashley it felt like she really cared and wanted her to thrive and flourish.
She wasn’t just another number.
At the beginning of the therapy session Ashley wants Nicolette to process through the last six months. We get to be front and center as this therapy session continues through all the ups and downs Nicolette has experienced in the last six months.
They discuss trauma and illness, the death of her ex-boyfriend, the break up of a boyfriend and everything that all these ups and downs entail.
Ashley explains that you have to have all three things working together spirituality physically and mentally.
The whole studio gets teary when Ashley tells Nicolette that she sees so much of her younger self in her and she’s trying to save her. We learned that sobriety and emotional sobriety is a life long process.
Everything happens for a reason and we are certain that Nicolette had to go through all her experiences to meet Dr. Mossimo at Etherhealth and he inspired Nicolette to now double major in neuroscience and psychology because she wants to be just like him.
