Episode 1 – “Get to Werk”
The Grande Dame Diva of the South makes her Texas size entrance and we love everything about it. The one liners are beyond amazing.
We talk about how all dancers and their Mom’s got interviewed during filming and how interesting it is to see how few got actual air time and how producers know what makes for good TV. Kiana her little sister Leah and their Mom Anjie definitely grab the attention.
Kiana reminds us of an Olympic ice skater – she is so beautiful.
We get to meet Dawn Justin’s long time manager and best friend as well as her daughter Celeste which is Justin’s assistant.
Marcella is introduced to us as the Assistant Company Director and Justin asks for everyone to welcome her with open arms. Wellllllll……. let’s see how that turns out. So far so good.
We talk about Justin and Marcella’s connection – Marcella thinks they have magnets inside that attract them to each other.
A favorite moment of Episode 1 was when Alyssa tells Justin “TO SHUT THE HELL UP”
THE WEDDING – oh my goodness – this is an iconic moment – everyone falls in love with Dancing Queen. Robbie and Neil, Justin’s favorite designers are getting married but only if Alyssa officiates
the wedding – we have an interesting side story because Robbie was Whitley’s professor in college.
We think Alyssa needs to officiate every wedding from now on. The rhinestone bible, the cross necklace – the outfit……so many favorite moments –
THE MUSIC VIDEO – its like a spin like they do on Broadway – you almost feel like you are in a musical.
Alyssa coming out of the cake, the yellow wig, the holographic pink fringe dress – riding the bull – its all simply brilliant.
A laugh out loud moment when Alyssa poses for the family photo and is holding a crying baby.
The Elite team list is posted – everyone is beyond stressed
We start recapping Episode 2 at around 32:40
Episode 2 – “Man I feel like a woman”
The episode jumps right back into the stress of the room where the list is posted who made the team.
Lots of screaming, crying and hugging – drunk Mom confronts Justin about her daughter not making it – Justin tells her that they should cry – that it will teach them to build thick skin and then they are going to be confident.
Marcella talks about the special moment of Josie and her little sister. Josie didn’t make the team but her sister did and Celeste telling Josie to congratulate her sister. This was a beautiful moment and sad at the same time. So much inspiration.
We love Josie and her beautiful spirit that shared that she has bipolar disorder. We are cheering her on.
Justin tells us that 3 things are for certain – Death – Taxes and Dance Moms.
We see Justin revisit the house he grew up in – what a beautiful, emotional moment – he talks about how close his family was at a moment in time and that divorce destroyed everything but that he chooses to only think about the good times they had at this house.
Then we get to see the new house he picked out to buy in Suburbia. Justin talks about Dedication, Determination and hard work and that there are no...
