  • #46: Inside-Out: A Look at Stem Cell Therapy – Part 1
The Too Posh girls are super excited to welcome Mr. Bernie Diamond and Mr. Erin Barnes with Regevity Stem Cell Institute. https://regevitystemcell.com/ We hear the traumatic and inspiring life story of Bernie. He tells us that he grew up sheltered and got sucked up in the Dallas Party Scene. After working at a bank he found his passion as a hair dresser and was working towards opening his own hair salon when tragedy struck. We hear all the vivid details of the fateful night when he got shot in a case of mistaken identity. With blood everywhere and his left hand dangling and only attached to tissue he ended up fighting for his life and hiding to avoid being shot more as the popping of gun shots continued around him. After spending 1 month at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, enduring dozens of surgeries to try to save his hand, they ended up amputating his left hand. At the same time both his Dad and brother got diagnosed with cancer.
He battled with depression for years trying to figure out what to do next. His dream of owning a hair salon and his whole future as he knew it were all destroyed in a single moment. The bible verse Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God” helped him get through those tough times and he was certain that God had a bigger plan for him. He got into the medical industry and is now co owner of the amazing Regevity Stem Cell Institute.

  • #41: It Gets Better: Understanding Suicide Prevention – Part 2
We start the show off discussing the recent suicides by hanging of Kate Spade, Anthony Bourdain, the sister of the Queen of the Netherlands. Valerie and Gabrielle discuss how their lives have been changed and traumatized by their family members who committed suicide by hanging. We encourage everyone to download the Colombia Suicide Prevention Questions and use the Severity Ratings Scale for any loved ones you are concerned about. Valerie tells us about being suicidal herself these last few weeks. We wish people would reach out more and check on people. Marcella gets very strong about people practicing more human kindness and not to be so cruel.
We are baffled by a very hurtful event that occurred once again in the dance world. A going away party was being planned by adults for one of Marcella’s best friends and our former teacher of Prestige Dance and Performing Arts Centre. Marcella, Gabrielle and several children including our little Jolee were purposefully left out and not invited, causing unnecessary heartache. Pictures plastered all over social media that caused especially the children who were left out severe pain. As a teacher that was being honored as a mentor at this said party we would have hoped that she would have reached out to the children that were left out and asked them to do something with her separately, or insisted that all were invited.
Lots of Dance parents have a history of being cruel and unkind to children so it was not a surprise when Valerie told us about how her daughter finally opening up about how she was always left out while dancing at the studio too. Valerie apologized to her and told her ” I am so sorry that these parents viewed you through me and shunned you.” ADULTS PLEASE BE KIND TO CHILDREN. We continue our talk about people being evil, unkind and cruel when we discuss the tragic drowning death of Bode Miller’s 19 month old daughter. People were attacking those poor parents with outrageous, disgusting comments.

  • #40: It Gets Better: Understanding Suicide Prevention – Part 1
Gabrielle starts the show and is going on a tangent about guests that come on the show and are not completely honest and holding back on their stories and that the audience can tell when that happens. The fact that the guests do not share the social media quotes and soundbites is equally confusing and disappointing to the whole Too Posh Cast. Valerie is back for a 6th time and gives us an update on her life. She has been having a rough time the last few weeks. She tells us about losing a friendship over a garage sale issue. The most devastating news that have come out from the police report that she finally got to read from her husband’s suicide. The police report states some very absurd and mean accusations against Valerie.
Whitley tells us about her new job at http://www.mexicansugarcocina.com/.We talk about our fun photo shoot for our upcoming new Jet Set Collection under the direction of https://www.jwaylon.com/ with photographers Bruce Chandler https://www.facebook.com/bruce.chandler.73, https://www.linkedin.com/in/jagilmore/ and https://www.instagram.com/jraymayphotography/ And Marcella’s photo shoot with http://gregwoodsonphotography.com/ We have a very extensive, fun discussion and very strong opinions about the New Miss America changes.
