  • #73: That Time We Reviewed The Thing

For our last week late review episode for Spooptober we watched the 1982 classic film The Thing.  Directed by John Carpenter and starring Kurt Russell it tells the story of a group of American researchers in Antarctica who encounter the eponymous “Thing”, a parasitic extraterrestrial life-form that assimilates and then imitates other organisms. The group is overcome by paranoia and conflict as they learn that they can no longer trust each other and that any one of them could be the Thing. Also towards the end of the podcast we discuss extended vs theatrical editions of movies. Come join us!

  • #72: That Time We Spoiled Halloween 2018

We went to the theater for our 72nd episode to see the new 2018 Halloween film aka Halloween H40. Directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley this film follows Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) as she comes to her another confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago. Retconning every other sequel in the franchise and dubbing this as the real sequel to the original 1978 film, find out if we think it lives up to the hype or if its just one big pile of garbage.

  • #71: That Time We Reviewed Halloween III

Happy Happy Halloween, Silver Shamrock!! For the 71st episode we watched a film starring Burt Selleck (Tom Atkins), the 1982 cult classic Halloween III: Season of the Witch. upon it’s release the film was met with scathing reviews by critics and fans alike for the absence of Michael Myers and the rest of the Halloween story as the producers wanted to turn the franchise into an anthology series and tell a new story every year. This film is set during Halloween and tells the tale about kids all over America want Silver Shamrock masks for Halloween. Doctor Daniel Challis seeks to uncover a plot by Silver Shamrock owner Conal Cochran. Over the years reception of the film has been much better and it has since found the audience it didn’t have during the initial release.
