There’s literally never a dull day at Southampton FC. A podcasting dream! With Mark Hughes having exited stage left earlier this week, Ralph Hasenhüttl, the ex-Ingolstadt and RB Leipzig Head Coach, has taken over in the St. Mary’s hot seat.To reflect on the Austrian’s South Coast arrival, TSP regulars Ben Stanfield (Host), Adam Leitch (Chief Sports Writer, Daily Echo) and Steve Grant (Owner of SaintsWeb), are joined by Fresh Press UK Football Content Executive, and massive Saints fan, Luke Osman.Providing even more informed opinion on Hasenhüttl, FoxSoccer and Guardian Football Weekly journalist Archie Rhind-Tutt, and AIPS Media Bundesliga specialist Chris Williams, also drop by.Lastly, James Parsons, who has been wearing his Saints halo over in Leipzig for the last 20 years, tells us how his language and translation company have been supporting RB Leipzig (and our new manager!) as they’ve been growing on the European football stage.TSP is the dedicated weekly Podcast going to the heart of all things Saints!Twitter: @TotalSaintsPodFacebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspodE-Mail: [email protected]: www.patreon.com/totalsaintspod

At last something positive to talk about - i.e. Saints not losing!TSP's ever-committed panel of Ben, Steve and Adam are joined by car-nut and general-TV-good-guy Tiff Needell to reflect on both a frustrating and encouraging 2-2 draw for Saints against Manchester United.Alongside that, the Episode looks ahead to two big games for Saints this coming week - at Tottenham and Cardiff City.Sandwiched in between we chat Nepal - and a dedicated TSP listener who also loves Saints - as well as playing our one-off gameshow, Player Your Cars Right (genius, we'll sure you'll agree!)Tiff, as ever, proves a thoroughly entertaining guest, as he talks through his love of cars, Saints and ideal Director of Football strategy (at least for Saints anyway!).Twitter: @TotalSaintsPodFacebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspodE-Mail: [email protected]: www.patreon.com/totalsaintspod

Another game - another defeat for Saints. One that sees them fall into the Premier League's bottom 3!Fulham came out on top in this November 'six-pointer', winning 3-2 eventually.Ben Stanfield (Host), Steve Grant (SaintsWeb) and Adam Leitch (Daily Echo, Chief Sports Writer) reflect on another disappointing result, as well as ahead to the upcoming games against Leicester City (Carabao Cup) and Manchester United (Premier League).Thankfully, to bring some much needed enjoyment, this week's Total Recall goes all the way back to April 1996 - and Saints fantastic 3-1 win over Alex Ferguson's Red Devils. Will and Leon from Saints Archive join us to reminisce about those much better times.Twitter: @TotalSaintsPodFacebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspodE-Mail: [email protected]

  • Episode 50 - Total Saints Podcast
Total Saints Podcast celebrates its 50th Episode - and the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War 1.With Steve Grant away watching the England Cricket Team in Sri Lanka, its just like old times, with Adam Leitch (Chief Sport Writer, Daily Echo) and Ben Stanfield (Host) battling through the trials and tribulations as a twosome.Discussion covers the disappointing draw with Watford FC - and the continued wait for a 2018/19 Saints home win. In summary, Simon Hooper, "Premier League referee", makes few friends (on either side!) after a simply woeful performance.Off the pitch its been another hectic week at St. Mary's, with both Vice Chairman of Football (Les Reed) and Technical Director (Martin Hunter) booted from their positions at the Club. Following that, the Saints Chairman (Ralph Krueger) carried out his latest 'Big Interview', where he reflected on both the exits, and also what may/may not happen next on the South Coast. In summary, it appears to involve spaces. And opportunities. Ultimately Adam was at the centre of all of it, diligently reporting every word, emotion and analytical comment he could (until his keyboard finally gave up!) To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of World War 1, Will Dawe (Founder of Saints Archive) joins us to remember some of the fallen WW1 ex-Saints in our latest 'Total Recall'.Lastly, in celebration of our 50th Episode, if you'd like to become a Patron of TSP then you now can, we're on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/totalsaintspod). • Episode 49 - Total Saints Podcast
The pressure was on Saints to finally win a Premier League home game at St. Mary's, with rock-bottom Newcastle in town, but again they failed. The final score 0-0! Just when will they win their next game on their own patch!?Regulars Ben Stanfield (Host), Adam Leitch (Chief Sports Writer, Daily Echo) and Steve Grant (Owner of SaintsWeb) discuss the frustrations of that game, which mirror much of the last 12-18 months! They also look ahead to a daunting visit to Manchester City in the Premier League, whilst reflecting on the very sad helicopter crash at Leicester City this past weekend, and the likely rearrangement of Saints' 4th Round Carabao Cup game that was scheduled to take place this coming Tuesday. Finally, sandwiched in the middle of the Podcast - not least to give the guys something positive and enjoyable to talk about - is the first "Total Recall", where TSP will look back at some memorable Saints wins from over the years, starting with the 3-0 thumping of Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth in 2003.Total Saints Podcast is the dedicated weekly Podcast going to the heart of all things Saints FC!Twitter: Total Saints PodcastFacebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspodE-Mail: [email protected]

Saints travelled down to the Vitality Stadium (Dean Court!) this weekend to take on AFC Bournemouth in the ‘Its not a Derby’ Derby. The game eventually ending 0-0, despite an improved performance by Saints – at least at one end of the pitch anyway! After travelling across the globe during the International break (well, two of them anyway!), Ben Stanfield (Host) is joined once again by regular panel members Adam Leitch (Chief Sports Writer, The Daily Echo) and Steve Grant (St. Mary’s Season Ticket Holder). The three of them reflect on the performance against the Cherries and look ahead to what many (except Adam of course) consider a ‘must win fixture’ against Newcastle, which is next for Saints in the Premier League.Episode 48 of the Podcast also includes chat about footballers on social media, goal droughts, fan surveys and (maybe more randomly) ex-Monaco manager, Leonardo Jardim.Total Saints Podcast is the dedicated weekly Podcast that goes to the heart of all things Saints FC – and we make no apologies for that!Twitter: @totalsaintspodFacebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspodE-Mail: [email protected]: SaintsWorldOfficial Sponsor: Happy Hot Tubs

Sigh.......Another home game for Saints ends in the normal way these days - without a win! Chelsea the latest victors at St. Mary's, 3-0.Again, its a defensive horror show, with a mixture of familiar soft/sloppy goals being conceded. Far too easy for Chelsea in general. The week had started positively, with a Carabao Cup win up at Goodison Park, but it was soon back to earth with a bang, after Eden Hazard (and his mates) gave Mark Hughes side the run-around on Sunday. There seems no end to the Club's demise at the moment. Can't score at one end (despite a number of decent chances versus Chelsea) and can't keep them out at the other! On Episode 47, with Adam Leitch away, Ben Stanfield (Host) is joined by birthday boy Steve Grant (Owner of SaintsWeb) and Lucy Highnett. The three of them try desperately to maintain positive attitudes, but its hard. Really hard.Thankfully there's an International break for a couple of weeks now. A little ray of sunshine in what already looks to be a dark and gloomy season for the South Coast side!Twitter: @totalsaintspodFacebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspodE-Mail: [email protected]

Its another disappointing result for Saints in the Premier League this week as they lose 2-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux. With 7 games now played, and only 5 points mustered, the South Coast outfit continue to frustrate the majority of their fanbase.Ben Stanfield (Host) is joined by regular guests, Steve Grant (Owner of SaintsWeb.co.uk) and Adam Leitch (Chief Sport Writer, Daily Echo) to look back at the 'performance' versus Wolves, and where they go from here.NBC Sport's Joe Prince-Wright, a big Saints fan himself, also pops in for a catch-up on all things red and white - including the Carabao Cup fixture at Everton and Premier League home game to Chelsea next Sunday. If that isn't enough, Paul Cox, a fan now based in Nebraska, talks about his relationship with Saints via the Club's North American partnership programme. The doom and gloom is starting to build around St. Mary's once more, but Ben, Adam, Steve, Paul and Joe do their very best to keep you entertained, with 100% commitment to the cause.Keep Marching In! (Well, at least try.....)Twitter: @totalsaintspodFacebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspodE-Mail: [email protected]

Total Saints Podcast (Episode 45) returns after a short break during the International fixtures, but some thing's never change - Saints failing to hold onto a lead and/or managing to compete in a game with one of the Premier League's Top-6!Ben Stanfield (Host), Adam Leitch (Chief Sports Writer, The Daily Echo) and Steve Grant (Owner of SaintsWeb.co.uk) initially reflect on another frustrating performance at home to Brighton and Hove Albion - where Saints managed to throw away a 2-0 lead in the 90th minute! There were a couple of bright moments though - a pre-match light show and a Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg thunderbolt!Attention then turns to the somewhat predictable collapse at Anfield - 3-0 against Liverpool - before a preview of next weekend's tough looking fixture at Molineux against Wolves.Saints continue to show a number of worrying similarities with the last couple of seasons but, with only 6 games gone, surely they can't make this season as nerve-wracking as last, can they!?Twitter: @totalsaintspodFacebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspodE-Mail: [email protected]

A win - an actual Premier League win! This is not a drill.....Yes, for only the 3rd time in 2018, Total Saints Podcast have a Southampton Premier League win to reflect on - after the 2-0 success for Saints, at Selhurst Park.Ben Stanfield (Host), Adam Leitch (Chief Sports Writer at The Daily Echo) and Steve Grant (Owner of www.saintsweb.co.uk) enjoy every minute of a rare 3 points, discussing the ins and outs from the game in South London, including the likes of Danny Ings, Charlie Austin and recent England call-up, Alex McCarthy. There's no doubting it was a massive 3 points for Mark Hughes side. Can they now push on from here, or do the guys think the International Break has come at just the wrong time?Alongside that, there is Quincy Promes, Fantasy Premier League and England squad announcement conversation as well. This is the dedicated weekly Podcast that goes to the heart of all things Saints FC!Twitter: @totalsaintspodFacebook: www.facebook.com/totalsaintspodE-Mail: [email protected] Sponsors: www.happyhottubs.co.ukIn Partnership With: www.SaintsWorld.co.uk
