It's spooky season, so I handed the reigns of the show over to Nona, the person who digs through trash dumpsters for horrendous horror films, and challenged them to give me 3 decent ones that may have been overlooked.

Chain Reactions is an exploration of Tobe Hooper’s cult-classic, featuring never-before-seen outtakes and interviews with Patton Oswalt, Takashi Miike, Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, Stephen King and Karyn Kusama.

Directed by Alexandre O. Philippe (Lynch/Oz, The Origins of Alien), the doc had its World premiere at Venice Film Festival last year, before screening at a string of International festivals – including BFI (London), Night Visions (Finland), Sitges (Spain) and MIFF (Australia).

Gleaming the cube, more like... Skateboarding and getting off with your dead adopted brothers girlfriend while anti communist propaganda makes you wear chinos 

ThatFkingGuy and Sunset Skip (Rich) meet up and talk about a movie, but not just any movie, it's Skips all time favourite movie of ALL TIME!.

The write up on IMDB doesn't let on to much, it totally doesn't mention that it features some totally gnarley grindage from some of the top skaters of the day, some sweet sweeeeeeet stunts, totally rad funeral dress and Frosted tips!!!

That's not even going into the weird romantic relationship and possible anti-communism sub plot.

Directed by Daniel Draper (Nature of the Beast), Iron Ladies is a celebration of the iron willed women who maintained the 1984/85 Miners' Strike as they fought for the future of their communities. 

Iron Ladies shines a spotlight on the previously overlooked narratives of women, who still fight for their communities today. Heather Wood, Lorraine Stansbie, Rose Hunter, Kate Alvey, Betty Cook, and Aggie Currie are amongst the 20 unsung working-class heroes to share their stories.

Iron Ladies will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 10th October

Me and J watch a film about a hecking good doggo

This game-changing supernatural horror is told from an entirely new perspective, that of man's best friend. Star of the movie, Indy, has already received acclaim for his gripping performance, winning SXSW Film Festival's coveted "Howl of Fame Award".

Directed by Ben Leonberg (The Fisherman's Wife) and produced by Kari Fischer, who are both Indy's real-life humans, Good Boy has already gained a devoted following. The film's cult status continues to soar among both fans and critics, with the film now boasting an impressive 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes*.

Critics have praised the film, with Dread Central saying it is "primed to be one of the most chilling movies of 2025." However, future fans have only been able to angst over Indy's fate. The film's recent trailer launch has caused a 2000% Google spike in searches over the film's ending. 

Good Boy follows a loyal dog as he moves to a rural family home with his owner Todd, only to discover supernatural forces lurking in the shadows. As dark entities threaten his human companion, the brave pup must fight to protect the one he loves most.

Good Boy, will be coming to UK & Irish cinemas from 10th October.

Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror is set for a UK release, with an exclusive first look at the new artwork. 

The film will celebrate its UK Premiere at Sheffield DocFest on 19th June, screening at SCI-FI-LONDON Film Festival on 22nd June, before having its Irish Premiere at GAZE on August 3rd, with additional previews and festival screenings soon to be announced. Following its festival run, fans will be able to experience the ultimate ode to all things Rocky Horror in cinemas across the UK & Ireland from 3rd October.

From humble origins as a London fringe theatre play to its meteoric rise as the biggest cult film of all time, this is the definitive story of the Rocky Horror Show. With intimate access to its creator Richard O’Brien and other major players such as Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Lou Adler, the documentary explores what makes the play and film so singular: Its groundbreaking and transgressive themes, iconic performances and epic songs that took over popular culture.

Sunrise Films and Vertigo Releasing are excited to announce their upcoming multi-territory release of Samuel Clemens’ debut feature The Drowned, starring Alan Calton (Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning), Lara Lemon (War Of The Worlds: The Attack) and Lily Catalifo (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), alongside Dominic Vulliamy (BBC One’s Rules Of The Game), Corrinne Wicks, Michelangelo Fortuzzi, and Sandrine Salyères.

Woven with references to Greek mythology, The Drowned follows three thieves who have just stolen a priceless painting and arrive at a secluded safe house by the sea, only to discover their fourth accomplice is missing. They must question whether one of them was responsible for her disappearance, or if the blame lies with a more sinister presence lurking in the deep water below.

The film, formerly known as The Waterhouse, premiered in London at FrightFest Halloween and will release via Sunrise Films on major digital platforms in North America on 7th October and in Australia and New Zealand on 8th October. Sister company Vertigo Releasing will release digitally on 6th October in the UK and Ireland.

The Drowned was produced by Agam Jain, George Clemens and Fernando Ruiz for Take The Shot Films, and James Kermack and Julien Loeffler for Featuristic Films. Raven Banner Entertainment is selling the film worldwide.

In this episode I catch up with Philip Bedwell a friend who's current acting career has led him to some interesting roles that help shed some light on what it means to be evil

Bad Man stars Sean William Scott (American Pie), Rob Riggle (21 Jump Street), Johnny Simmons (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Lovi Poe (Chelsea Cowboy), Andre Hyland (Barry), and marks the final film of the late Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina). 

Bad Man is the debut feature from director Michael Diliberti, which he also co-wrote with JJ Nelson.

The small town of Colt Lake, Tennessee has a big meth problem. When murder strikes, Deputy Sam Evans is assigned the case. A former local sports star, Evans has fallen from grace in the eyes of the community he still holds dearly. No one takes him seriously or thinks he can get the job done.

Then hot shot Bobby Gaines arrives. An undercover agent with the state's Special Narcotics Task Force. He is immediately welcomed like a hero. Evans is forced to work the case with the new top dog in town. But as they dig deeper, all may not be what it seems with this strange new savior.
