Thomas said it best: "If we don't start spending what the teams that take football serious spend, this will never not happen to us." After three weeks of good coaching staff and roster news, LSU comes in and takes OLB Coach Sterling Lucas away from his home state and Shane Beamer's coaching staff. It's not yet confirmed but it's widely believed that star edge rusher Dylan Stewart will likely follow him. We got together to talk about the big picture: why this keeps happening to South Carolina, and what must be done from an administrative level to stop it.

We want to extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Gamecock football legend Steve Taneyhill. Steve's legacy goes beyond his time in the garnet and black. Taneyhill owned and operated several businesses in the Five Points neighborhood of Columbia and also coached high school football for many years in South Carolina. He was a true pillar in the Columbia community for decades and he will be missed by fans all over the country.

The state of the program for the South Carolina men's basketball is depressing. After losing an ugly game in Clemson on Tuesday night, Beck and Thomas realize that the team is more than just a tough watch & conclude this might be LP's final season in Columbia if things don't get turned around quick. In college football, QB TJ Finley is making headlines after announcing he's attempting to play a seventh year of college football at what would be his seventh school. Thomas and Beck have differing viewpoints on this kind of exploit and dive deep into their feelings on the portal as a whole. Bracketology is not just for March. Thomas and Beck go through their entire CFP brackets before revealing their DB Blitz picks for this week's bowl and playoff game slate.

Christmas could come early in Columbia... Several national and local reports are indicating LaNorris Sellers will suit up in the garnet and black in 2026. Thomas and Beck talk about what this means for next year's team and how it could impact the decisions of other key players. They also discuss the newly released 2026 SEC football schedule, which sets up nicely for South Carolina the first half of the season. Finally, Gamecock MBB is taking a trip to Clemson this week to take on the Tigers, and our very own Beck Dugas will be there to root them on.

Coach Shane Beamer has his guy: Kendal Briles will be wearing the garnet and black next fall as the Gamecocks look for a consistent and explosive offense for the first time in the Beamer era. Thomas and Beck talk about what Briles brings to Columbia, and what two other offensive hires mean for the Gamecocks going forward. Meanwhile in Michigan, Sherrone Moore is out as head coach after what appears to be some of the most bizarre circumstances we've seen in college football since Bobby Petrino was fired by Arkansas.

There was no shortage of storylines to talk about after the the 2025 College Football Playoff bracket was revealed on Sunday afternoon. Beck and Thomas talk about the seeds, the surprises, and of course the G5's heavy presence in this year's playoff. We also checked in with South Carolina's offensive coordinator search before breaking down our conference championship weekend DB Blitz results.

*Listen to the entire episode to learn how to win 4 tickets to the South Carolina basketball conference opener vs Vandy* Early national signing day wrapped up on a good note for the Gamecocks as QB Landon Duckworth and in-state EDGE Julian Walker each signed with the Gamecocks... Thomas and Beck give their takes on the class and what needs to be worked on in the portal next month. The coaching carousel is also still spinning, we discuss the Penn State coaching search disaster and finally address Lane Kiffin's ugly exit from Ole Miss. The penultimate CFP rankings were also released, and of course we take issue with the committee and their latest rankings. After that we talk about our DB Blitz picks for conference championship Saturday and close with a few thoughts on Gamecock Basketball's ugly home loss to Virginia Tech.

The 2025 South Carolina Gamecock football team can no longer hurt us. 12 excruciating games were culminated by an ugly & season-ending loss to Clemson at home over the weekend, extending Clemson's win-streak in Williams-Brice stadium to 6 in a row. The majority of this episode was spent dissecting the loss, pondering the future of the team, and laying out what Shane Beamer must do this offseason to ensure this kind of season doesn't happen again in 2026.

This rivalry week we decided to reach across enemy lines and talk to someone that knows a thing or two about winning this special game. Former Clemson head coach Danny Ford sat down with us for nearly an hour to talk South Carolina-Clemson history, his role in this rivalry, today's college football landscape, and what it was like to play and coach for Bear Bryant at Alabama. After some great storytelling from Coach Ford, we spent a few minutes on our own talking about what we want to see out of the Gamecocks this weekend before revealing our final regular season DB Blitz picks. We'd like to extend a massive thank you to Coach Ford for sharing his time and stories with us!

For the first time in weeks the South Carolina Gamecocks have won a football game. Because of the game's cupcake nature, Thomas and Beck briefly touched on that result before diving head first into rivalry week. The Carolina Clemson game takes the spotlight in the Palmetto State this week as two very disappointing teams look to end their seasons on a high note. After that, Thomas and Beck ramble for 30 minutes about college football playoff seeding before reviewing their DB Blitz picks and talking a little bit about USC's bad weekend in the Greenbrier basketball tournament.
