A face gazes at the horizon, looking upwards, as if searching for the sky and meaning beyond the visible. It does not follow the traces like a bloodhound: the traces are everywhere, scattered throughout the world – objects, thoughts, writings, laws, works of art – fragments of experience that remain after us. Each fragment becomes a clue, a small sign that can illuminate the path for those who come after us. Those who encounter these traces do not receive precise instructions, but tools for reflection and insights for understanding how to orient themselves in their own present, which is our future, thus finding solutions and visions through what has been left behind.
