This week we read one of the most popular characters of the 90s and Image comics, Spawn. From Eisner Hall of fame nominee Todd McFarlane, after a hit on Al Simmons is successful, he's burned to death and sent to Hell. Making a deal with the devil, Simmons agrees to become a Hellspawn and is allowed to see his wife Wanda one last time. Spawn is returned to the living realm with a severely burned body, and a demonic guardian named the Violator.

In anticipation for The Flash, we read a book that inspired it. Flashpoint by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert. A revisit to one of our favorite comic book events that change the timeline and created the New 52 universe.  A world in which only Barry Allen seems to be aware of significant differences between the regular timeline and the altered one, including Cyborg's place as the world's quintessential hero, much like Superman is in the main timeline, with Superman himself being held captive as a lab-rat by the United States government within an underground facility in Metropolis. In addition, Thomas Wayne is Batman, and a war between Wonder Woman and Aquaman has decimated western Europe.
