This week we reviewed superhero noir story Powers with our good friend Mike who showed us the comic. One of the many well-known creator-owned series by Brian Michael Bendis with artist Michael Avon Oeming. This super crime book had us loving the artwork and its dialogue driven plot. This first volume was the 'Who Killed Retro Girl?' arc that was a great introduction to this long running story.

In excitement for the new Marvel movie Thor: Love and Thunder, we read the first arc about the villain Gorr the God Butcher. Thor God of Thunder is the first series of the legendary and in our minds definitive run on Thor by Jason Aaron. The first part of the run has incredible artwork by Esad Ribic and colors by Dean White. This is a book we both love that we don't recommend enough to fans of fantasy and mythology.

In memorial of the tragic passing of comic book legend Tim Sale we read Superman: For All Seasons. One of the many iconic collaborations with Jeph Loeb and accompanied by colorist Bjarne Hansen. This was an absolute delight and was ranked as Nathan's favorite Superman story. A much-needed palette cleanser for all the brutality and gore that have been among our last few episodes.
