What is Taper Up?

Our mission is to create engaging, educational, and empowering content that helps runners "Taper Up" in life, health, and fitness—no matter their pace. By combining expert insights and decades of trail-running experience, we aim to inspire our community to enjoy the trails to their fullest potential.

The goal of the Taper Up Podcast is to create a vibrant space where runners over 50 can find inspiration, community, and actionable insights to thrive on and off the trails. 

Each episode will feature engaging conversations with trail running legends, everyday athletes, and experts in health, fitness, and gear. By sharing incredible stories, practical advice, and the occasional laugh, our podcast aims to empower listeners to embrace their passion for running at any pace and every stage of life. We had a great time talking to Michael about his love for running and going after the 100 mile distance. If you talk to Michael you can see the happiness all over his face, he truly love being in the mountains and has a deep passion for what he does. As Michael says- "More is better."

When you see him on the trail, expect a high five or a big hug. What Michael brings to the trails is definitely contagious.

Justin just finished his 3rd Bear 100 and took the time to sit down and give us a blow by blow account. I had the pleasure of pacing Justin for a few miles and got a front row seat of how our struggles might slow us down but our heart and will can carry us through some tough times. It's National Cheese Curd Day and what a better way to celebrate then launching a new episode featuring IMTUF 100 finisher - Sarah Manning. One of our favorite things to do is combine traveling and trail running. On this RunCation we were lucky enough to meet up with good friend Matt Ozanic and he showed us around his giant backyard.
