This is episode two of our interview with Richard Erskine. Richard is the Training Director at the Institute for Integrative Psychotherapy, a clinical psychologist and an author of numerous books and articles on the practice of psychotherapy.
We recorded this in London in Nov 2019 when Richard kindly agreed to a second interview after we had technical issues with our first recording. We cover a range of subjects including his favourite TA books, the qualities to look for in a psychotherapist, and the rewards of working in this field.
You can find out more about Richard and his work by visiting the website for The Institute for Integrative Psychotherapy:

We discuss Richard’s early work in Psychotherapy, how he came across TA in the 70s and how TA developed in those early years.
It was recorded in September 2019 face-to-face and unfortunately, the sound quality isn’t great and we only have 30 minutes of the interview. The material, however, is excellent. Richard also graciously agreed to a second interview which you can hear in episode two.

This is Part 2 of a special edition episode, one in which we have changed things up a bit! Rather than having 3 of us in your head, there’s going to be 7 of us!!! We have facilitated a very timely panel discussion on what TA might have to say about the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The panel is made up of Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analysts across the four fields of application in TA. We have Anna Chandy (C), Trudi Newton (E), Adrienne Lee (P), Thorsten Geck (O) and Giles Barrow (E) who will be representing the emerging approach of Ecological TA.
This rich and inspiring response to the current pandemic is Part 2 of a two-episode discussion.
