TransMissions Podcast - Everything Transformers!

The hunt for Pythagoras takes the Autobots deep into the Acid Wastes, where the Doctrine of Steel and Synapse have made their lair in the abandoned fortress of Outpost Argentum. With the wastes hissing and bubbling around them, the crew takes to the skies, then digs into the corrupted earth itself to breach the facility's defenses. What secrets lie hidden in the Doctrine's stronghold, and how far are they willing to go to protect them?

TransMissions Podcast Network presents: the world's first and only Transformers RPG actual play podcast! Conceived, developed, and run by TransMissions Podcast producer and editor Michael Ordway (@minervion), this podcast combines the tabletop role playing game (RPG) experience (think Dungeons and Dragons) with the setting, universe, and characters of the Transformers into an actual play podcast. Each episode records the gaming sessions as the player characters experience the adventures planned and designed by the game master (GM). The RPG system being used is based on Starfinder, a sci-fi variant of Pathfinder, combined with elements of the Transformers-themed Mechamorphosis d20 system (more info here).

Empire of Rust takes place in the IDW Comics Transformers Universe that ran from 2005 to 2018. It is set at the beginning of the "First Strike" storyline that was published in 2017. But while the starting point is based on the events of the first issue of First Strike - where Earth is being inducted into the Cybertronian Council of Worlds - the story of Empire of Rust will be very different. So if you've read the comics, don't think you know what's going to happen!

The players have all created original Transformer characters to take part in this adventure, but they're sure to encounter some familiar faces in their adventures on Cybertron, and beyond.

No, this isn't a mistake! Alt Mode on a Wednesday! We wanted to have some fun with TransMissions #666 coming the week of Halloween, so we switched the release days this week. In this episode we revisit the Marvel Sunbow Universe as we review the new Skybound G.I. Joe Cold Slither one-shot comic! All this and much, much more on this episode of TransMissions Alt Mode!

The fallout of Sweet Spot's departure weighs heavily on the team, leaving the crew shaken and searching for their footing. But there's no time to grieve or hesitate — because Pythagoras is still missing. Following a trail of whispers, intercepted signals, and back-alley dealings, the Autobots uncover the first real lead on the group behind his kidnapping: a shadowy organization with designs far beyond one stolen head. Who are they, and why do they want Magnum's partner so badly?
