TransMissions Podcast - Everything Transformers!

"LADIES AND GENTLEBOTS!" In the red corner, weighing in at too much metal to measure, the twin terrors of the back alleys – Rough and Tumble! They've been holding back, but now the gloves are off, the gears are grinding, and the transformation is ON! In the blue corner – a tank with no brakes, the shockwave of steel himself – Bombshock! But tonight, he's rolling straight into a Carapace Crusher Special, and trust us… the end won't be pretty. The stakes are high, the oil is flying, and when the smoke clears, one combatant will be nothing more than a pile of spare parts. Who will roll out a winner? Who will roll out… permanently? It's time for the clash of titans. It's time for Empire of Rust.

TransMissions Podcast Network presents: the world's first and only Transformers RPG actual play podcast! Conceived, developed, and run by TransMissions Podcast producer and editor Michael Ordway (@minervion), this podcast combines the tabletop role playing game (RPG) experience (think Dungeons and Dragons) with the setting, universe, and characters of the Transformers into an actual play podcast. Each episode records the gaming sessions as the player characters experience the adventures planned and designed by the game master (GM). The RPG system being used is based on Starfinder, a sci-fi variant of Pathfinder, combined with elements of the Transformers-themed Mechamorphosis d20 system (more info here).

Empire of Rust takes place in the IDW Comics Transformers Universe that ran from 2005 to 2018. It is set at the beginning of the "First Strike" storyline that was published in 2017. But while the starting point is based on the events of the first issue of First Strike - where Earth is being inducted into the Cybertronian Council of Worlds - the story of Empire of Rust will be very different. So if you've read the comics, don't think you know what's going to happen!

The players have all created original Transformer characters to take part in this adventure, but they're sure to encounter some familiar faces in their adventures on Cybertron, and beyond.

The fight in the gang's hideout hits maximum overdrive as the crew faces off against Torquejaw's brutal enforcers. Just when things start to turn in their favor, a devastating new combatant smashes into the fray — none other than Bombshock, a towering tank of Decepticon might with old grudges and new artillery. Carapace takes the brunt of the assault as the team struggles to survive the sudden escalation. Explosions fly, alliances are tested, and reinforcements are nowhere in sight!
