Transmusic Airwaves episodes
- Vicotin Popsicles Episode #21 September 14, 2012 (The Beatles "Covered") with DJ Paul CimineroYet one more "older" episode prior to my DEBUT of TRANSMUSIC AIRWAVES. From the broadcast archives of KUSF-in-Exile, here's the September 14th, 2012 airing of a hugely popular show I did on the Beatles, covered by some very obscure artists.
This week’s special feature on Vicotin Popsicles is nearly two hours of THE BEATLES: ‘COVERED!” Join me and discover some of the most interesting cover versions of Beatles classics interrupted by the likes of FATS DOMINO, VASSAR CLEMENTS, LOL COXHILL, JACKIE AND ROY,ROBERT MASON’S STARDRIVE, SUFJAN STEVENS, THE PIXIES, BJORK, PARASITES OF THE WESTERN WORLD, BISON CHIPS, VINCE GUARALDI, and the always annoying rendition of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds by WILLIAM SHATNER just to name a few. Unusual, obscure, and hard to find renditions of the “Fab Four’s” most famous songs.
PLUS: Additional sets of great free form radio with Peter Gabriel, the Buena Vista Social Club, Billie Holiday, Bokan Jinen, and Martha and the Muffins.

About Transmusic Airwaves
From the publisher's feed
Transmusic Airwaves is a journey beyond conventional radio boundaries. It encompasses various musical forms and styles loosely centered on “Progressive”, with attention to transitions that form…
cohesive sets of music. Ideally, it creates a context, an atmosphere, and conveys moods as listeners are guided through a musical spectrum.
Transmusic Airwaves is the brainchild of Paul Ciminero, whose radio roots began in the 1970's at WKSU's late-night Fresh Air program. Transmusic began weekly podcasts in 2013 that continued until Paul's passing at the end of 2022. Afterwards, it expanded as a collaborative effort introducing a broader audio palette via multiple hosts and their respective musical knowledge. In this way, Transmusic has become the modern form of the old Fresh Air program!
