Trash Box: A Real Housewives Podcast

Welcome back, Trash Box listeners! SO. After a brief hiatus, I have returned with a solo episode to discuss the last month in Orange County (omg Noella), Miami (omg Alexia), and Salt Lake City (omg EVERYONE).

But before we dive into the coverage, I have a little announcement: I'm taking a break 'til spring. Life has gotten extra busy for me this winter. And when I return, I'm leaning towards revamping the podcast into something that's more general pop culture/celebrity gossip. A ridiculous chat show with comedians and friends (some of whom I've wanted to have on, but, alas, they aren't Housewives fans). I'm excited!

Regardless of what direction Trash Box takes, I wanna thank everyone for being such loyal, supportive listeners over the past year!! I've received so many kind and funny messages since I started the podcast, and I've really enjoyed connecting with you. And our amazing guests.

Please stay subscribed; even if the new Trash Box isn't exclusively Housewives-centric, I will talking about the things that I love. And that will include Bravo. I think by opening things up, we can get extra silly and weird and even personal! Stay tuned...

This week on Trash Box I welcome stand up comedian Dan Udy, who has a PhD in reality TV! Actually! I initially thought he was joking when he told me, but I discover the fantastic truth a third of the way into this episode. So get ready for an extremely intellectual discussion about The Real Housewives. 

First up is the Nicki Minaj reunion, which was so so so fun. Then Dan gives us his thoughts on the Orange County premiere (I didn't watch, and I'm still on the fence about this season). Finally we dive into some *actual drama* on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip! On a yacht! With Kenya! And Ramona, who is genuinely terrible and needs to be fired ASAP.

This week drag/comedy sensation Viza DeCline has returned to dish on the middle-aged narcissists of the Bravo-verse.

After some talk of horoscopes, ghosts, and psychics, we jump into the surprisingly entertaining Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip #RHUGT. Guess what’s not a surprise! Ramona being the worst! Duh! Then it’s onto this amazing season of #RHOSLC. We are living through history, people! This ensemble is spectacular. Finally it’s the third part of the Potomac reunion, and yeah, this didn’t need to be four parts. But still enjoyable because these ladies are endlessly watchable.

Comedian and friend Alessandra Vite is back to talk about The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City! Cuz Salt Lake City is the only Housewives city she watches! I do solo coverage of the first part of the Potomac reunion immediately after.

But yeah... Salt Lake City. WOW. What an episode. Lisa Barlow is pretty damn lucky that Mary Cosby and Jen Shah are on this show, because otherwise she'd be Public Enemy #1. Instead she's #3. The pre-arrest footage is... magnificent. But the pre-Mary Cosby bully shenanigans are also very strong. Eeee, I can't wait for next week!

This week we're diving into Potomac's 2-day drama-packed trip from hell, the latest Salt Lake City (which Tom is fuzzy on because he watched most of it drunk), and the third part of the Beverly Hills reunion. Um... is Erika OK? Also, Team Garcelle and Sutton, obviously. And Lisa Rinna can get fucked, BOOOOO! Then it's Potomac, where Candiace goes low and White Chris goes high. Finally, Salt Lake City, where it's Jen Shah vs. Brooks, "that little twerp" Lisa vs. Whitney, and Mary vs. the proper way to share news that someone has died.

Trash Box is back after a week hiatus (it was a family wedding, give me a goddamn break!), and I missed you. I did. Three really strong eps of Housewives to recap/snark on this week, but first I talk a bit about the new LA Times interview with Garcelle, Sutton, and Crystal. Worth a read, very entertaining!

First up is the finale of Beverly Hills, where I Google everybody's net worth, fawn over Crystal's Chinese New Year party, champion Sutton, and wish bad things on the Fox Force Five (I guess we're still including the Ghost of Teddi Mellencamp?). Then it's over to Potomac where Candiace gets so, so mean! Then Salt Lake City, where we witness the extremely satisfying takedown of Lisa Barlow, via new girl Angie.
