    • We asked in the group if people had gone to the Boo Bash and if so, what were your thoughts about it. Here is the feedback we received:
      • Cindy wrote in with this feedback: “My family of 4 attended in late August. My husband and teen boys have done an after hours event but not a MNSSHP. I have. So they had no preconceived notions about what a Halloween event at Disney should be like. They are not really into parades and whatnot, so we basically went for the low wait times. If that is what you are after, then Boo Bash is worth every penny. We basically walked on everything. I think our longest wait was 15 minutes and that was for Mine Train. BUT if you love all of the parades and fireworks and stage shows that normally come with MNSSHP and you don’t really care about rides, then you will probably be disappointed.”

  • Brenda: The Epcot International Festival of the Arts is scheduled for January 14 – February 21, 2022! Have you ever been to the festival?
  • Mike: Reopening information and dates! Over at Animal Kingdom, the Tam Tam Drummers of Harambe are returning on November 7th! Over at Hollywood Studios, the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular is returning on December 19th! Also, Disney Movie Magic is set to return in November, along with Meet Disney Junior Pals and Minnie Starring in Red Carpet Dreams!

    • Cat writes: “Old Key West was huge and we liked it very much, but 3 BR villa at Bay Lake Towers is hands down our favorite. Park views (amazing at fireworks time) fireworks, spacious and open design, monorail access… absolutely wonderful”.
    • Pam chimed in as well: “Boardwalk. Love theming, view of the Boardwalk. Excellent location between HS & Epcot. As well as convenient to multiple restaurants including those in Beach/Yacht club. And the Salon at the Beach Club.”
    • Sheila said: “Bay Lake Tower especially with the Ellis family.”
    • Cindy said: “Bay Lake Towers!”
    • John chimed in: “Only have stayed at Saratoga Springs, Wilderness Lodge, and the Contemporary. Out of these three, Wilderness Lodge was my favorite. Loved the grounds and the boat transport to the campgrounds Contemporary and MK. Saratoga Springs much larger layout. Was in one of the quiet buildings. That was nice, but only time I can say I didn’t like the walk, but it was really not too bad about 5 to 10 minute walk to the main building for food. Contemporary, loved the monorail. Got to meet my Captain there, Captain Hook. My best bud for the villains. I can’t put my finger on it, but the Contemporary just was missing some of the magic. Don’t know if it is just that it is one of the original resorts and feeling its age. Looking forward to GF and the Beach Club in the next 3 years.”

  • Mike: Officially, as of October 1st, the “Neighborhoods” at Epcot will be official. As a reminder, there is World Discovery, World Celebration, World Nature (all part of the original Future World section) and World Showcase, which remains the same. World Discovery will have the attractions like Test Track and Guardians of the Galaxy; World Nature has attractions like Living with the Land, and World Celebration has attractions like Spaceship Earth.
  • Brenda: Great News! The Main Street Confectionary reopened on September 29th! Take a look at some of the new treats you can get here!
  • Sophie: We came across something that we didn’t know about, and it opened on September 1st. Over at Akershus, which is not reopened yet, they have put a lounge in the restaurant for anyone to use. It is sponsored by Florida Blue, and it is called the Florida Blue Lounge. If you order beignets with a meal from the food court (which is only a few steps away) this will be the new pickup location. This is Season 2, Episode 38 for September 20, 2021, and our feature topic today is Your Favorite Moderate Resort and Why. For today’s podcast we are continuing our three part look at our favorite resorts. Today we are looking at our favorite moderate resort. • Updates from last week:
  • We had some more listener feedback on their favorite Value Resorts. Cindy said that she always loved Pop, but with the addition of the Skyliner they love it even more! Deb said that Music was wonderful but now that they have stayed at Pop, they love the convenience of the Skyliner! Are we seeing a trend here on how much people love the Skyliner?
• Cheddar from the Big Cheese
  • Brenda: The Candlelight Processional is returning to Epcot this year! Starting November 26, it will run during the Festival of the Holidays until December 30. For this year, rather than use guest choirs from different community groups and schools, Disney is expanding their cast member choir. Disney expects guest choirs to return next year.
  • Sophie: One day, Nemo is gone for good, the next day, it’s back! A new reimagined show, based on the same characters, will debut in 2022! So, if you were hoping for a return to Finding Nemo to Animal Kingdom Park, it will be back!
  • Mike: Coming back on the radar — dessert parties and fireworks cruises! Starting September 18, the Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise is coming to the Magic Kingdom. Also, over at the Tomorrowland Terrace, there will be 3 different dessert parties starting October 3rd. There’s a “Pre-party” and “after-party” option that you can enjoy desserts before the fireworks, with reserved standing viewing of the fireworks in one of the plaza gardens, and one called Treats and Seats where you enjoy desserts and special seating at the Terrace. Also, over at Epcot, there will be two Harmonious fireworks dining packages coming. One is over at the Rose & Crown, and the other one is at the Spice Road Table. Both start on October 1.
  • Brenda: Dining reservations for Space 220 opened this morning. This unique dining experience will take diners on a journey from Earth to the stars, a simulated 220 miles above Earth’s surface, for an immersive experience that will delight all the senses. The menus for the two-course prix fixe lunch and the 3-course prix fixe dinner were announced last week. The cost for 2-course lunch is $55 per adult and $29 per child. The cost for the 3-course dinner is $79 per adult and $29 per child. The restaurant is not accepting reservations for Sept 20-26 but will accept walk-ins only. Reservations can now be made for Sept 27 and beyond.

    • John: Love Riverside and Coronado Springs. Both have great landscaping. Both pools are the tops in our book. I enjoy the quick service and the sit down at Riverside more. Have not done the sit down at Coronado Springs. The last few times, the quick service Peppers Market had lost some of its great taste. Haven’t been there in a few years. Would like to try it again to see if it has improved.

  • A few episodes back we talked about a refurbishment for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at WDW. It turns out we were wrong, the only refurbishment is the one at Disneyland that started on September 7th. I’m sorry for any confusion I caused!
• Cheddar from the Big Cheese
  • Mike: The age old debate has been that Disneyland has better Churros than Walt Disney World. Well, WDW is looking to end that debate. They are coming out with a new Churro Mickey Head Cookie to try and even things up a bit. What do you think? Would you try it? You can find it at Big Top Souvenirs at the Magic Kingdom, and it costs $5.49. It’s a sugar cookie with cinnamon flavored swirled icing. They also have a Mickey Churro Cupcake. Take a look at the photo and tell us what you think!
  • Brenda: Do you like Club Cool? Well, if you do, good news, Club Cool will reopen on September 15th!
  • Brenda: As we reported earlier, Port Orleans Riverside will be reopening on October 14th, with French Quarter reopening October 28th. Before then, though, both resorts are having some work done. Riverside is seeing some general construction on the check-in building, and over at French Quarter, work is going to be done on the Alligator Bayou Pool.
  • Sophie: Great news! The Monorail station for the Polynesian Resort has reopened! I’m excited, this will be the First Time in Forever First time in a long time that we will ride the monorail!

Loved the Movie because of seeing all the art work of all the movies they have done and the pools are very fun. The dining area was enjoyable. With Music, loved the pools and the pool side games. Have not stayed at AofA, but have visited there a few times and walked around. One draw back, not enough shade. Granted we stayed at all of these during the summer time so very, very, Florida hot.”

For today’s podcast, which falls this year on Labor Day here in the US, we are talking about our tips for things you need to consider as you tackle Walt Disney World during a holiday. • Updates from last week:
  • In the Facebook Group, the things that people wanted to do most in the Never Have I Ever category are the behind the scenes tours when they are back!
  • Brenda’s guests left us a great comment on what the Cast Members are looking for to be chosen to be the Grand Marshall of the Parade: 
    • What they’ve told us is that they look for:
    • 1. People without little kids. They typically don’t pick kids because of the time commitment. It takes about 2-4 hours.
    • 2. Leisurely stroll into the park. We stop at Starbucks to get a drink and take in Main Street before entering the park.
    • 3. Show the Disney spirit! We typically wear matching shirts, ears and sometimes shoes too.
    • 4. The last time we were picked he followed us from Main Street to the Haunted Mansion (it was his favorite ride). We’ve had different people pick us each time. 
• Cheddar from the Big Cheese
  • Mike: Walt Disney World Annual Passes will be going back on sale starting September 8th! They have 4 types of passes, three of which are for Florida Residents or DVC Members only. The fourth pass, known as the Disney Incredi-pass, is open to everyone and is the most expensive at $1,299 + tax per person. 
  • Brenda: A couple of things of note — some of the Club Level lounges are reopening! The lounge at Animal Kingdom Lodge is now open, the Royal Palm Club at the Grand Floridian opens on September 16, the BoardWalk Resort is September 23rd, and the Contemporary is September 26th. Other Club Level lounges will open beyond that.
  • Brenda: Also, Disney Cruise Line is offering up to 25% off on select sailings in September, October, and November. Reach out to us if you want to look into pricing.
  • Sophie: A couple of weeks ago at Animal Kingdom Park, Azizi and Gino, two western lowland gorillas, gave birth to their first daughter. Well, the troop themselves revealed their name — Ada (pronounced Ah-duh) — which means first daughter. This is appropriate because this is Azizi’s first daughter she’s had.
