Treasured Truth

What does it mean when the Psalmist says, “He maketh me to lie down”?  God has a special plan for each of us and sometimes that involves making us to stop, lie down, and rest in green pastures.  Find out more about what this means on today’s Treasured Truth.

Pastor Ford will explain today that if we are praying for something that is not attached to the purpose of God, then we shouldn’t expect it to happen.  The questions we ought to ask when we want something from God are these—will this glorify the person of Jesus Christ?  Will this fulfill the purpose of Jesus Christ?

Today we’ll see how the gospel message is so clear, even as it’s seen within the nuances found in Psalm 23.  And Pastor Ford will remind us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us, to redeem us from our sin.

Do you run to anybody other than the Lord?  Because He’s the only One Who can help us.  And when life seems to present us with “what” problems—what’s going on in my life? This is going on, that’s going on in my life—we need to realize instead that we should have a ‘Who’ perspective.  And then we can say, “No matter what’s going on in my life, I know Who can deal with it.”

We’ll see today how the Lord leads his children, just like a shepherd leads his sheep.  And if the Lord truly is our shepherd, and we have committed to follow Him, then we can be confident that He will give us everything that we need.

As we continue to work our way through the beginning of Psalm 23 with Pastor Ford, he will explain the significance of the names that the Psalm’s author, King David, used to refer to God and what that significance means for us, even today.

As we begin to take a fresh look at Psalm 23, Pastor Ford will explain how that despite the fact that it may be the most well-known Psalm from the Bible, it may also be the least understood.  We’ll begin to explore the metaphors and the word pictures in this beloved passage of scripture and learn more about the Lord, Who is Our Shepherd.

Pastor Ford will remind us today that when Christ is not valued in our lives above all, He is not valued at all.  A lot is out of place in our lives because Christ is not in first place.

We take a break from our normal programming line up so Pastor Ford can answer your questions about the Bible and the Christian life.  The topics he’ll be explaining today include how to become more intimate with Jesus, the role of women in ministry, and the qualifications necessary for someone to be a pastor or elder within the church.

What you’re going through right now, what you’re worried about right now, and what you’re stressing about right now—that’s the now, it’s not the later!  And God wants us to understand that today is not the end of all that He has planned for us later. So don’t let failure now, rob you of your hope for the later.
