Pastor Ford will explain today that practicing forgiveness is like we’re saying, “I will not let that wrong perpetrated against me define my life.”  Forgiveness is releasing the person who has wronged us and in doing so, freeing ourself.

Forgiving can be so hard, especially when the wrong done to us seems unforgiveable.  But when we look at Jesus at Calvary, whatever was done to us was not as bad as what was done to Him on the cross.  And He said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do!”  If Jesus sought forgiveness for his offenders, so can we.

As we begin to take an in depth look at the process of forgiveness, Pastor Ford will describe how, in one concise verse found in Luke 23, Jesus tells us we can forgive the unforgivable.  If we utilize the model Jesus lived for us to follow, we can forgive those individuals who have wronged us.

Do you reflect on the grace that God has given you, or do you think that you were just lucky?  Today, Pastor Ford asks that poignant question and wants us to realize that God’s grace is constantly evident in our lives and that God doesn’t get His proper praise, because we don’t recognize all that He’s done in grace for us.

What comes to your mind when you hear the word worship?  If you automatically think of the choir and the band at church, then you may not really understand what worship truly is.  Pastor Ford wants us to understand that we ought to be able to worship God wherever we are and whenever He prompts us to worship Him.

As Pastor Ford begins a new message from Hebrews 13, he explains that the only reason we can come to God and give Him the sacrifice of praise is because Jesus provided for us the pathway to God and the power to worship Him.

We’ll continue to explore how Jesus compared believers to salt and discover that in those days, when salt had lost its savor—or lost its potential property to bring flavor—they would take it and throw it out in the road for people to walk on it.  And today Pastor Ford will explain what Jesus meant when He compared certain believers to savorless salt.

Pastor Ford will explain today what Jesus meant when He said that believers are the salt of the earth.  They add zest to an otherwise bland world.  Others see their joy, they see their love, they see their commitment and are drawn to Christ.  But why aren’t people being drawn to some believers?  Because they’re not salt.

As we start a new study from Matthew 5, we’ll consider the influence that believers have on the lost world around them. According to Pastor Ford, their influence actually keeps the world from becoming more depraved.  They can’t reverse the depravity that already exists in the world, but they can help retard its further development.

As we continue our series on worship, Pastor Ford points out that King David was motivated to praise God because he couldn’t help responding to God’s goodness.  Have you considered God’s goodness lately, and has it motivated you to praise Him?
