Treasured Truth

As we continue to look at motherhood and study Genesis 3, Pastor Ford will explain that the promise of motherhood, beginning with Eve, is that she would reinvest mankind with life.  It’s a promise of pardon. The Savior that would eventually come through Eve’s descendants will ultimately rectify mankind’s sinful situation.

As we look forward to Mother’s Day, we’ll begin a study today in Genesis 3 that celebrate’s motherhood.  Pastor Ford will describe how God’s promise of salvation was tied to motherhood from the beginning and it was promised that Eve’s progeny would bring forth the child that would redeem the world from sin.

What starts with “we” always ends in nothing.  But what starts with “Jesus” will always end in success.  He wants us to understand that it’s His presence that makes all the difference in every aspect of our lives.

Have you ever gone through a difficult time and the first thought you had was, “God, You said that You loved me.  If You love me, why am I going through this?”  And God says, “You’re questioning My love for you because I let this trial come into your life.  But what you don’t understand is that I let it come into your life because I do love you.”

God wants us to know that whatever is bigger than we are He’s bigger than it.  Aren’t you glad that we have a God Who is bigger than what’s bigger than we are?

Pastor Ford points out that there are some individuals who don’t want anything to do with Jesus because of what somebody who knows Jesus did.  He’ll share with us how we should respond to this type of criticism from unbelievers.

When you understand that there’s significance in your suffering, that understanding will turn fear into faith.  It will turn sighing into singing.  It will turn doubting into dancing.  It will turn worrying into worship.  And, it will turn trying into trusting.  As a result, you will know what God is doing for you through your suffering.

We focus on what’s happening now, but God focuses on what happened before.  Why?  God takes us back so we can see history to comprehend our destiny.  Because when He told us back then about what will be, He made the promise in history about our destiny.

Life can be full of trouble and we as believers are not exempt from it.  But even though we may lose everything—home in foreclosure, relationships strained, health failing—we can still look to God and hear Him say, “Have no fear, I’m here!”

We need to be circumspect and make sure that we know our own answer to this question:  Are we not witnessing because we’re ashamed of Jesus?  Because if we are ashamed of Him, He said that He would be ashamed of us before His Father in heaven.
