Treasured Truth

As the time came near for Jesus to sacrifice His life for us, how could He have joy, when He knew all of the things that He would have to endure?  Pastor Ford will explain Jesus could have that joy because He truly understood the blessings in a beat down.

When the Father turned away from Him as He hung on the cross, Jesus realized that even though He felt abandoned by God, He was still His God.  Jesus knew that His relationship with the Father could never be broken by His circumstances.  As believers, we too can learn from Jesus’ example and be certain that this truth applies to our own lives as well.

Following Christ’s example of what to do when you feel abandoned by God, today Pastor Ford will encourage us, when we feel abandoned, to go to the Word of God and to commit ourselves to the revelation of all of God’s promises that we find in His Word.

Christ was forsaken on the cross so that we could be forgiven and He left us an example of what we ought to do when we feel too feel like we’ve abandoned by God. We’ll look at how Christ responded on today’s Treasured Truth.

As we continue to look forward to Easter, Pastor Ford will remind us of just how rich our redemption actually is.  Jesus Christ paid the price for us to be redeemed and then He blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3). 

With this final message on Loving Jesus Back, Pastor Ford explains how we can know if we are responding appropriately to the cross of Christ.  He’ll share that our conduct in life will show our loyalty to Christ, if we are indeed responding appropriately to His sacrifice.

As we consider the richness of the redemption we have in Christ, we need to understand the futility of what we think can give us authority over our sin, other than Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

When dealing with betrayal, we have to understand how it can affect us emotionally and then avoid the tendancy to isolate ourselves from others.  Also, we need to remember that we can take our broken heartedness to Jesus and He understands our grief, since He Himself was betrayed in the worst of ways by a friend.

As we consider David’s lament in Pslam 55, detailing a betrayal he experienced, Pastor Ford explains that David is not referring to some casual acquaintance.  He is talking about a betrayal by an intimate friend.   Today we’ll begin to see how David dealt with the betrayal and learn from his response.

How can we know if we are mature believers?  When His purpose is more important to us than our pain.  Some people won’t get involved in ministry because they know that they’re going to get hurt.  But Pastor Ford will explain today that we all must ask ourselves, is Calvary more important than our own personal comfort?
