Treasured Truth

Rumors are dangerous because they change our focus.  Pastor Ford reminds us today that instead of our focus being on idle rumors, our focus should always be on the goodness of God and the glorious victory that He has given us through His Son, Jesus Christ.

On today’s Treasured Truth, Pastor Ford explains that one of the best things that Satan can do to stop the church from being effective is to get us to be unforgiving with our brothers and sisters. The household of faith is divided when there is unforgiveness.

Pastor Ford explains that a rumor is just second hand gossip. It’s hearsay. It’s reporting something to someone without consulting the original source to validate or to substantiate. It’s giving all the details without having all the facts. And it’s definitely something we should all avoid spreading.

As we conclude this message from Jeremiah 18, Pastor Ford encourages us to quit looking at other people, thinking we need to be where they are. We need to realize that we need to be right where we God has placed us and then we need to let God take us where He wants us to be. We need to strive to just be ourselves in the process.

Pastor Ford encourages us today to remember that God has a specific purpose for everything that happens to us. God always intends for His ultimate plan to be executed in our lives. It’s a great reminder as we continue to look at God as the Potter and us as His clay in this message from Jeremiah 18.

Pastor Ford compels us to come to Christ no matter what our circumstances. We shouldn’t try to clean ourselves up. Rather we should just bring our stinky selves to Christ and He will cover us. We’ll end up smelling like His sweet aroma, instead of the pigsty we’ve just come from.

Do you have circumstances that you want to see changed? Are you suffering and you want it to be over? Are you bound in sin and want to be free? Pastor Ford explains today that God’s word says He has given us the tool of fasting as a resource to help set us free from the things that bind us.

Today, Pastor Fords explains that when we forgive, we are following God's example and becoming more like Him. We can’t go higher than forgiveness. It’s a virtue that can become a part of our character, where our first response is to forgive.

Pastor Ford tells us that fasting is a resource for spiritual victory in our lives. It can help us overcome overwhelming problems, but it must be exercised according to God’s plan and not ours.
