Today Pastor Ford answers some questions from listeners on topics like drug abuse recovery, the biblical grounds for divorce and abuse in marriage.

God can bring us out of depression. He can put our marriages back together. He can bring our children back. But we need to be proactive in faith. Do we have the faith to step out into what we believe is our biggest problem and then wait on God to solve it?

Depression says to us, “Everything’s against you. Everybody’s against you.” But God’s word says, “And we know that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord, for those who are called according to His purposes.” Does God mean even the things that are making us depressed? Yes!

Have you ever wondered why Jesus had to become human and spend 33 years on earth? Why didn’t He just come for the weekend, just in time to sacrifice Himself on our behalf? Pastor Ford will share today that he believes one reason why Jesus was incarnated was so He could be “our kinfolk” by becoming “our skinfolk.” So He could relate to us like a friend, even in our struggles with things like depression.

As we conclude this study on teamwork, Pastor Ford explains what the priority of our commitments should be. Our first commitment is to our Sovereign. Our second is to the saints. And the third is to the service, in that order. If the service is messing up the saints, then it’s messing up our commitment to the Sovereign and whatever the service is, it shouldn’t be done.

In Genesis, God wanted Adam to be the spiritual leader of his family by default, setting an example for all mankind. And Pastor Ford says that wives ought not feel bad about that, because it means that Eve was in the mind of God before she ever was in the arms of Adam. Everything she needed to be successful as a wife, God put in place before she ever came on the scene.

All around us the family is deteriorating. Marriage and the family are under the Devil’s wrecking ball. He is trying to destroy what God has put in place for us. Today we’ll learn about how the breakdown of the family began, as our study takes us all the way back to Genesis 3.
