  • Year of the Dragon

Hello my friends, welcome to another edition of DJ Witwicky's radio show. Happy New Year to all loyal listeners and Keisha. For Christmas, the previous installment was a rather melancholy display of the blues, Lightnin' Hopkins in particular. Now for the New Year, my newest dance episode. Combining old and new, obscure and corporate. More importantly, I have recently updated the Feng Shui of the podcast room. This is what I've wanted this room to look like for years. It only took a tapestry display ladder, bluetooth lamp and a blooming Zygo Cactus to get where I needed to be. I'm basically aura farming in this room at all times now. Another addition, I was given a vintage CD player that looks like a turntable for Christmas which serves as a welcome addition to the Tower of Power.  For those wondering, my pre-existing CD collection includes an original release of Channel Orange by Frank Ocean, multiple copies of Kanye albums some unopened, an autographed CD from The Weeknd, Linkin Park - Jay Z collab, multiple from Zeppelin and Sabbath. I've been eyeing Harmon Kardon receivers and speaker systems lately for the final upgrade to the pod room. I sincerely hope that my fantastic listening audience had a wonderful holiday break, I'm looking forward to the new year. As always, thank you for being here. Hope you enjoyed it

  • My Blue Christmas

Hello my friends across the interwebs. After an extended hiatus, here I am with a new blues installment just in time for the holidays. The next few days I will be smoking cigars, watching an assortment of fantastic DVDs that I bought recently, cramming sweet treats into my yap and thoroughly enjoying myself just as an abandoned middle aged man should do. This desolate path of solitude does have it's perks. For instance, I just turned the volume all the way up and blasted Future at midnight because I wanted to jump around with the dog for a bit. This week alone I've watched The Outlaw Josey Wales, Home Alone, The Bourne Identity, The Da Vinci Code and Scarface on Blu-Ray. Multiple football games and the UNC Basketball game as well. Being alone on Christmas does in a way feel like Tyson Fury just socked me right in the kisser. BUT I do get to watch football with the dog, scratch my toes and listen to Black Sabbath records so it's FINE. I did get a super sick tapestry for Christmas too so I'm on fire over here. Keisha I hope you get to rip into something super duper sick tomorrow. I might get myself another Christmas present or two. Insider baseball, I saw some wicked hot Lennie Rosenbluth autographed stuff on eBay. 1957 NCAA Player of the Year that was guarding Wilt Chamberlain in the championship game, no big deal. Met him a few years back and he couldn't have been nicer to me. Him and his wife. He sadly passed last year and I need a piece of Lennie history in this podcast room. Since I'm slowing down on the recording rate I will be upgrading the sound system in here for super wicked hot personal listening seshes. Why am I giving you an ear beating about Lennie Rosenbluth on Christmas Eve? I hope you enjoyed My Blue Christmas. If you want a more up-beat Christmas pod check out last year's Home Alone house music Christmas episode. Have a great Holiday break, everybody. Thank you for being here

  • End of an Era

I do apologize for being a week late with this installment, I attempted to make up for it by extending this episode to over three hours long. This eppy symbolizes the end of my weekly uploads. Almost every week for more than three years I have put out some sort of DJ set. I feel like taking the next month off and relaxing a bit. It is the peak of sports season. It's the holidays. I like to enjoy my weekends falling asleep watching movies that I've seen 40 times already. After two weeks without an upload who knows, maybe I go stir crazy and cook up the nastiest installment the world has ever known. But for now, I am taking a little break. I appreciate my loyal listening audience to the moon and back. Keisha!! You da bomb diggity. I hope someone out there enjoyed this episode, End of an Era. Thank you again for choosing to be here. This isn't the last of the Polka King of the Midwest.. Until next time..

  • Wonderful Wax of Witwicky

In this installment we hopscotch through my favorite 45 RPM records that I own. Everything from Frank Sinatra to Nas. I plan on slowing down on the installment frequency after next weekend. I have already started my gameplan for the next episode, so you should start taking your protein pills now. We're going deeeeep next weekend. I wanted to make sure my 45 collection got their day in the sun before I slow down. Next eppy will be my full size records and I'm sure a few live performances that I have saved on my laptop. Until then, I remain your loyal host with the most.. Yung Trill Murray. Chester Copperpooch. Trill Pecos Bill. The fastest hands in the West. DJ Witiwcka Juan Don and don't you forget it. Til next time.. Yuuuurp

  • Led Lightnin'

Hello my beautiful listening audience. Welcome to this week's installment, Led Lightnin. Leading off would be Lightnin' Hopkins, a fantastic blues singer and guitar picker from the old school. A musician that I discovered after getting into vinyl records and I'm very glad that I found his music. As always, I think the warm and fuzzy sound of this Hendrix 45 is really something. My Kanye collection on vinyl never disappoints, his stuff was engineered and mixed really well. I read that his Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album is the most expensive hip hop album to ever be produced and you can really hear the quality in the 180 gram vinyl. The 808 bottom end sounds really make it through the vinyl pressing and it is always impressive to me. I imagine I'll be here piled up for another eppy next weekend but most likely after that I'll be slowing down. Probably to one episode a month or something like that. As always, thank you for tuning into another installment with your favorite internet disc jockey.

  • Melancholy Master Mix

Welcome to the Melancholy Master Mix presented by DJ Witwicka Juan Don. This installment features some of my favorite musical pieces, not only in my vinyl collection, but some of my favorites overall. It was raining the entire time I was recording, so the theme fit the setting. The Weeknd's Trilogy album, Take Care album by Drake, Frank Ocean's two major albums all extremely nostalgic and treasured to a guy like me. I did slow and throw quite a few of these features, I hope someone out there enjoyed it. I sacrificed my trick or treat time to blast this together for you, my loyal listening populous via the interwebs. Thank you for being here, I'll catch you next weekend

  • Battle of the Bands

In what most likely will be the last primary rock n' roll installment before I slow down production for a while, we hopscotch through a ton my favorite bands. This was a two hour episode that I spent all weekend on basically. I did take a two hour break to trot over to the local comedy club tonight to catch Doug Stanhope while he was in town. That show definitely did not disappoint and now it's midnight before a work day and here I am, still piled up in front of this computer chomping away at my keyboard for you, my loyal listening populous. My favorite portions of this episode would be No Quarter live at the O2, The Ramsey Trio-Doobie Bros-LRB run in the middle of the episode is on fire and of course I am biased about the Jai Paul Coachella set. So what. I will be here foundling around and publishing another wicked hot installment next weekend, my birthday weekend so I'm sure it'll be a super sick banger. Until then..

  • I'm Dying of Thirst

Titled after the Kendrick Lamar feature in the latter portion of the installment, welcome to I'm Dying of Thirst. The newest episode curated by your favorite internet disc jockey, DJ Witwickatron. A hip-hip majority installment starting in the 90's and ending at current features. I do love the Jai Paul demo soundcloud playlist, but outside of that? My favorite portions of this episode would be Wu-Tang's Black Diamonds, Beastie Boys live on David Letterman, Paul Wall Sittin' Sideways on vinyl and the Jay Electronica run featuring the closing stanza of Eternal Sunshine. Boylife in EU by Yung Lean makes me smile as well. I really ended up enjoying this episode, I hope you did the same. In other unrelated news, just yesterday I was lucky enough to give a really nice, beautiful lady a bouquet of roses for the first time in my life. Peachy, dusty pink roses that I spent time picking out, found a vase at a separate fancy location and really enjoyed the whole process. No reason in relaying this message to my internet populous other than to let you know that DJ Witwicky is out here balling out of control in real life. Thank you, as always, for being here. I'll be byck with another handful of game next weekend.

  • Swing For Me

In this newest installment we got going ova hea now, I'm filtering through my favorite pieces from Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, sprinkled with similar artists and a strong close. I'm telling you, I'm still jazzed up that I was able to find the single Demo drop of Jai Paul's Jasmine. The last feature on this episode is a snippet of Joy Anonymous sitting on the steps inside of an Italian Cathedral. Incredible stuff, really. Also I'd be remiss to forget to mention the Jerry Vale performance of Pretend You Don't See Her. A really underestimated scene in Goodfellas. Wicked hot. I'm thinking I'll be putting together some sort of hip hop episode next week so make sure and tune into that. Thank you, as always, for being here. Your most trusted internet disc jockey.. out.

  • Music Played, People Sang

Welcome to a soulful installment featuring everything from 60's jazz, outlaw country blues, to current day house music. It's hard to pick a favorite part of this almost two hour episode, but I'm thinking Luther Vandross singing live takes the cake. Of course, my personal bias with the Jai Paul Coachella bit, but holy smokes Vandross. The Gap Band was on fire, Sade slowed and throwed come on now. Give me a break. I'm doing everything I can over here. Thank you for clicking on my lowly podcast, your favorite local internet disc jockey will be here next week with more game than an arcade. See you then
