Tribe Church

We have a Heavenly Father who looks at us through eyes of love. He asks us to come away with Him, not in non-activity, but a continual engagement of what it is to “be still and know," sitting at His feet and letting Him saturate us with His rain, until it begins to flow through us into the earth to give it what it’s longing for. The earth is eagerly waiting on not just church-goers, but sons who are conduits to flood creation until the kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdoms of our God and of His Christ.

In the amazing account of the Israelites’ journey to the Promised Land, when they came to the final barrier that was the Jordan River, not only was the river miraculously parted, but they crossed over on dry ground, as if water had never been there. The evidence of improbability was the dry ground. It wasn’t a sign and wonder because it was possible, but because it was impossible. After the last person passed through, Joshua had young men from each of the twelve tribes to gather large stones from the river bed to represent each tribe, and they were placed where the priests had stood firm on dry ground. The stones were to be a memorial and a reminder…for them and their children, and their children’s children for all time, to be able to recite the promise of, “As I was with Moses, so shall I be with you.” There are moments for all of us when we need to go back to our own memorial stones and remind ourselves and our children of our stories of Yahweh’s faithfulness. Remember the glory of where you’ve been, and see the glory of where you are going. “Faithful is He who called you, who also will do it.”

Whatever circumstances we face in life, true faith is founded in knowing that Yahweh is good and He is faithful and His mercies endure forever. Even in the face of things we don’t understand, He is still good. If I am convinced that He is good, my faith will be found in the nature of His goodness. There is nothing we have to do to qualify ourselves to receive His love, because He is a good, good Father.

When Yahshua sat on Jacob’s well that day in the outskirts of Samaria, he had gone forty miles out of his way to get there. He knew it was a Divine necessity that he go and speak these words that would not only change one woman, but a whole city, and ultimately, anyone else who has ears to hear: “If you drink from Jacob’s well you’ll be thirsty again and again, but if anyone drinks the living water I give them, they will never thirst again and will be forever satisfied! For when you drink the water I give you it becomes a gushing fountain of the Holy Spirit, springing up and flooding you with endless life!” John 4:13-14 TPT

When we think of the word “wait,” we relate it to being inactive, delayed or even anxious until something expected happens. When Yahweh asks us to wait, it is once again an opportunity He is giving us to shift our perspective and change the way we think. Waiting on Him is active, not passive. When we wait upon Yahweh, we will whirl in the dance. We will bind our heart together with His heart. We will look upon Him with expectation of His goodness. We will believe for something better than what we see today, that the Kingdoms of this world will become the Kingdoms of our God and of His Christ. Things will begin to change...starting with you and me...when we wait on the Lord.

Though we are living in crazy, confusing times, if we change our perspective to see as Yahweh sees, we will realize that these are actually amazing, powerful days, and we were placed here at this moment, by His design. Just as Yahweh told Jeremiah, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb...before you were born I set you apart...,” so also Yahweh has set us apart for this day. The earth itself is longing for the ones who carry the same familiar DNA that it was made from...those who are formed into the image of Christ...the sons and daughters of Yahweh. We were designed for this time and we owe it to the earth to not be moved by the chaos around us, but be set apart wholly unto Yahweh.

In the often quoted conversation that Moses had with Yahweh, he made this request of Him: “...if I have found favor in Your sight, please show me now Your ways, that I may know You....” He did not ask for signs or wonders or miracles, but instead wanted to know the ways of Yahweh. In becoming familiar with His ways, we can receive the promise of Acts 1:8: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses...” We can find great rest in the simplicity of just being His witnesses, not striving, but living in a Kingdom state of mind.

In the midst of chaos, the culture of this world will call for a specific response from us, that we take a stance, choose a side, and join in the fight. But that’s not the answer. A world in chaos needs sons and daughters of the Kingdom of Yahweh who will stand in perfect love with the fearful and hurting, without yielding to the demands of the culture of this world. We are in this world but not of it, and we stand as a counter-culture to the anti-Christ culture of this day.

Holiness is not about right or wrong. It is about hearing Holy Spirit’s call into a place of exclusivity unto Him, being set apart, taking ourselves out of one dimension and mindset and putting ourselves into another. Holiness will separate us from the truth of this world and lead us into the Spirit of Truth, enabling us to look different, respond differently, and live in His righteousness.

Strange and weird times. Uncertain moments. Challenging, difficult...a test or a trial. Whatever descriptor is used to identify it, we need to recognize this day for what it is and not lose heart and choose in every way, even in the little aspects of our lives, to live in Holy Spirit power. He is the essential ingredient to unlock the manifested authority we are designed to walk in, no matter what swirls around us. Difficult days are going to happen. Changes are going to come. Our very own word will be tested. We will be guided into the wilderness where we may be tempted to pick up the sword. But Holy Spirit is ever present, leading and guiding us all the way, pointing us to the Source. It is He who gives us the opportunity to see who we really are and manifest completely our Beloved Identity. He enables us to be a people of His Presence, with a resolve in our eyes because we know He is with us, and He is for us.
