  • 5 Rules for the Junto Tribe Man

Why is church so often filled with women while many men feel bored, sidelined, or disconnected? Is it because our culture has tried to tame and soften masculinity, and some of that drift has crept into Christian culture too?

If you’re a man of God who feels like a caged lion, itching to live out your masculinity for the Kingdom but unsure how, this episode is for you.

In *5 Rules for the Junto Tribe Man*, Mike and Jim lay out a clear, biblical vision for how a Junto Tribe man lives, thinks, and fights. These aren’t random tips or macho slogans. They’re rooted in Scripture and forged in real life, designed to help men recover a strong, righteous expression of manhood that honors God and serves others.

    In this conversation, they explore:

    - Why passivity and domesticated masculinity are so destructive to men, families, and churches

    - The five core rules that shape how a Junto Tribe man shows up in his home, work, church, and community

    - How to channel your God‑given aggression, drive, and passion in ways that build rather than destroy

    - Practical examples of what these rules look like in daily decisions, relationships, and spiritual battles

This episode is not about giving men permission to be selfish or reckless. It’s about calling men back to a bold, sacrificial, mission‑driven life patterned after Jesus: strong, courageous, servant‑hearted, and unapologetically committed to truth.

If you’re tired of suppressing your manliness and ready to step into a bigger vision of who God made you to be, listen in. The world doesn’t need less masculine men; it needs redeemed, disciplined, Kingdom‑focused men who live by a different set of rules.

These are five of those rules.

  • Ask, Seek, Knock… What Does That Mean?

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Most of us have heard Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:7–11, but what do they actually mean for the way we live, pray, and lead our families?

At first glance, it can sound like God is promising to give us whatever we want if we just ask hard enough. But if you’ve ever prayed for something and didn’t get the answer you expected, you know it’s not that simple.

In this episode of *Tribe Talk*, Mike and Jim dig into what Jesus is really saying when He talks about the Father giving “good gifts” to His children. They unpack how this passage is less about God funding our wish list and more about Him forming our character, shaping our desires, and inviting us into deeper relationship with Him.

    Together they explore:

    - The difference between asking for comfort and asking for Kingdom

    - How seeking God’s heart changes what we pray for and how we handle His answers

    - Why knocking often looks like perseverance, obedience, and trust in the middle of uncertainty

    - What it means to truly bless your children (and spiritual sons) with purpose, grace, and accountability

If you’ve ever been confused or frustrated by prayer, or wondered why God doesn’t always “come through” the way you expect, this conversation will help reframe your expectations. God is a good Father, but His definition of “good gifts” is often very different from ours.

Listen in as Mike and Jim walk through what it really looks like to ask, seek, and knock as men who want God’s will more than our own comfort, and how that shift can transform your life and your legacy.

  • Ride with Jesus No Matter the Cost

What would it take for you to follow Jesus if it meant losing almost everything?

In this episode of *Tribe Talk*, Mike and Jim share the powerful story of Noorah, an Iraqi refugee and graduate student at Florida State University studying physics. From a young age, Noorah had a fierce passion for learning, but she grew up under the weight of a restrictive culture, an oppressive regime, and expectations that told her to stay in her place.

She fought for the right to study, pushing through resistance from the government, her parents, and the culture around her. In the middle of that struggle, a severe illness brought her to a breaking point. It was there, in the middle of weakness and uncertainty, that Jesus came to her in a dream and everything changed.

Faced with an impossible choice between safety and obedience, between her old life and the Savior who met her personally, Noorah chose to ride with Jesus no matter the cost.

    In this conversation, you’ll hear:

    - How God pursued Noorah through her hunger for knowledge and truth

    - The moment Jesus appeared to her and the impact it had on her faith

    - The real-world cost of following Christ in a context where faith can be dangerous

    - What her story reveals about courage, surrender, and trusting Jesus when the stakes are high

If your faith has started to feel comfortable, predictable, or “safe,” Noorah’s story will shake you awake. She reminds us that Jesus is worth more than reputation, security, or approval, and that following Him is still the greatest adventure a person can choose.

Listen in as Mike and Jim share the testimony of a woman who decided, once and for all, to ride with Jesus no matter the cost.

  • Human Performance - Bring the Thunder

There’s a common lie in our culture: if God is real and you follow Jesus, life should get easier. The Bible says the opposite.

In this episode of *Tribe Talk*, Mike and Jim take a deep dive into **human performance** from a Kingdom perspective. They look at the interdependent nature of **soul, body, and spirit**, and why you cannot live out your calling well if any one of those areas is neglected.

Jesus warned His followers they would be persecuted, misunderstood, and opposed. That kind of life is not for the spiritually, mentally, or physically unfit. Serving Jesus well requires preparation, training, and intentional effort in every domain.

In this conversation, Mike and Jim unpack:

    - Why following Jesus often makes life harder, not easier

    - How soul, body, and spirit are deeply connected in your day‑to‑day performance

    - The danger of trying to be “on fire” spiritually while ignoring your physical or mental health

    - Practical ways to eliminate distractions and build disciplines that support high performance for the Kingdom

They challenge the idea that faith is something you add onto an otherwise comfortable life. Instead, they present a vision where your workouts, sleep, nutrition, thought life, spiritual habits, and relationships all become part of your preparation to serve Christ with strength and endurance.

If you’ve felt scattered, exhausted, or spiritually flat, this episode is a call to regroup and re-train. You don’t drift into a life of impact. You train for it.

Listen in as Mike and Jim call men to “bring the thunder” by taking their human performance seriously, so they can stand firm and stay faithful in the battles God is asking them to fight.

  • You Are a Craftsman - Creation for Connection | w/ Phil Kirkland

Some men build with wood and steel. Others build with words, ideas, or relationships. However it shows up in your life, God wired you with the heart of a craftsman.

In this episode of *Tribe Talk*, Mike and Jim relaunch the seventh archetype from the book *Seek Adapt Endure* with special guest **Phil Kirkland**. Together, they explore what it means to live as a craftsman modeled after the greatest example of all time: Jesus Christ.

The conversation starts with creation itself. When God formed the universe, He didn’t just display raw power; He displayed artistry, order, beauty, and purpose. Then He invited Adam into that work by bringing the animals to him and asking him to name them. Why? To connect with His son and to show him how to connect with others through creative work.

    Mike, Jim, and Phil discuss:

    - How God, the Master Craftsman, uses creation to reveal His heart and invite relationship

    - Why your creative instincts (in the shop, studio, office, or home) are not random, but part of your calling

    - Practical ways to use your skills, projects, and hobbies to connect with the Father and with brothers in Christ

    - How creativity can become a tool for evangelism, discipleship, and community-building

Drawing on Homer’s line from *The Odyssey* – “Those that are craftsmen of the people are welcome over all the wide earth” – they show how craftsmanship can open doors, build trust, and create on-ramps for the gospel.

If you’ve ever downplayed your creative side or treated your projects as “just a hobby,” this episode will challenge you to see them differently. You are a craftsman, and what you create can be a bridge between you, others, and the God who made you.

Listen in and let this conversation sharpen your vision for creation as connection.

  • You Are a Leader - Credible, Approachable, Accountable… Like Jesus | w/ Jacob Jaworski

Leadership isn’t just for CEOs, pastors, or people with titles. If your life impacts anyone else, you’re already leading. The real question is: **what kind of leader are you?**

In this episode of *Tribe Talk*, Mike and Jim relaunch the sixth archetype from the book *Seek Adapt Endure* with special guest **Jacob Jaworski**. Together, they unpack what it means to be a leader patterned after the greatest example in history: Jesus Christ.

Instead of focusing on charisma or control, they zero in on three traits that marked Jesus’ leadership and should mark ours: **credibility, approachability, and accountability**.

    They explore:

    - **Credible**: How living consistently, telling the truth, and doing hard things quietly over time earns real trust

    - **Approachable**: Why Jesus drew broken, messy people to Himself, and how men today can be safe, present, and easy to talk to

    - **Accountable**: How inviting brothers into your life, and submitting to God’s Word, keeps your leadership from going off the rails

Jacob shares stories and practical examples from his own journey of leading in home, work, and church, including mistakes made and lessons learned. The conversation stays grounded, honest, and focused on what everyday men can actually do this week to lead better.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’m not really a leader,” or felt the weight of leadership without a clear model to follow, this episode will reframe how you see your role. You don’t have to be perfect to lead like Jesus, but you do have to be intentional.

Listen in as Mike, Jim, and Jacob invite you to step into leadership that is credible, approachable, and accountable…for the glory of God and the good of the people you influence.

  • "Out-Serve" Your Wife... and Your Fellow Man | w/ Sarah Marion

Greatness in the Kingdom doesn’t look like power, platform, or control. It looks like a towel around your waist and a cross on your back.

In this episode of *Tribe Talk*, Mike and Jim relaunch the fifth archetype from *Seek Adapt Endure* with special guest **Sarah Marion**. Together, they explore what it means to live as a **servant**, modeled after the ultimate example: Jesus Christ.

Jesus told His disciples, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant… just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:26–28). That wasn’t theory. It was His daily posture toward His Father, His friends, and even His enemies.

Mike, Jim, and Sarah get practical about how that plays out in real relationships, especially in marriage and community. They talk about:

    - Why service is the true measure of greatness for a man of God

    - What it looks like when a husband decides to “out‑serve” his wife, day in and day out

    - How pride, insecurity, and score‑keeping quietly poison servant‑hearted leadership

    - Real-life examples of small, consistent acts of service that build trust, intimacy, and unity

Sarah brings a needed perspective from the other side of the equation, sharing honestly about what women actually feel and notice when a man chooses to serve like Jesus instead of demanding to be served.

If you’ve ever felt stuck in selfish patterns, frustrated in your marriage, or unsure how to lead without dominating, this episode will give you a clear, biblical path forward: become a servant.

Listen in as Mike, Jim, and Sarah challenge you to “out‑serve” your wife, your brothers, and everyone God puts in your path…just like Jesus did.

  • You are a Scholar - “But I Don’t Even Like To Read” | w/ Chris Jenkins

A lot of men quietly think, “I’m just not a reader,” and then assume the “scholar” side of following Jesus is for someone else. But Scripture doesn’t let us off that easily. We’re all called to love God with heart, soul, **mind**, and strength.

In this episode of *Tribe Talk*, Mike and Jim relaunch the fourth archetype from *Seek Adapt Endure* with special guest **Chris Jenkins**. Together, they unpack what it means to be a **scholar** in the Kingdom, even if you’ve never thought of yourself that way.

They start with a quote from Charles Spurgeon:
“Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise… But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.”

From there, the guys explore the difference between simply collecting information and actually becoming wise men who live out what they’ve learned.

In this conversation, they talk about:

    - Why every man is called to be a student of God, not just pastors or academics

    - How to pursue biblical knowledge without becoming a “knowing fool”

    - Practical ways non‑readers can still grow as scholars (audio, mentors, Scripture habits, etc.)

    - How to turn what you learn from the Bible into concrete action that impacts your family, work, and community

This isn’t about impressing people with big words or theological trivia. It’s about building a mind that is anchored in God’s truth so you can stand firm in a world of confusion and compromise.

If you’ve ever said, “I don’t like to read” or felt guilty about your lack of study, this episode will encourage you and give you a realistic way forward.

Listen in as Mike, Jim, and Chris call men to embrace their role as scholars and use knowledge rightly, to usher Heaven to earth.

  • You Are an Explorer - It’s More Than Just Getting Outside | w/ Steve Schutt

Since the beginning, men have been drawn to the wild. Mountains, rivers, trails, and open sky stir something in us that office chairs and glowing screens never will. But what if that pull toward the outdoors is about more than recreation? What if it’s part of how God designed you to know Him?

In this episode of *Tribe Talk*, Mike and Jim relaunch the **Explorer** archetype from *Seek Adapt Endure* with special guest **Steve Schutt**. Together, they look at what it means to live as an explorer in the Kingdom, patterned after the ultimate example: Jesus Christ.

They pick up a thread from history and Scripture, including President Theodore Roosevelt’s idea of the “strenuous life” – a life that intentionally pursues challenge, risk, and adventure rather than comfort. From there, they connect it to the way Jesus and many biblical figures stepped into the wilderness to be tested, refined, and reconnected with the Father.

In this conversation, they talk about:

    - Why men have always been drawn to the wilderness and why that matters spiritually

    - How exploration is about more than hiking or hunting; it’s about seeking God in new places and seasons

    - Practical ways to use time outside as a proving ground and a place of rest, not just escape

    - How shared adventures with brothers in Christ forge deep bonds, courage, and clarity

This episode will challenge you to see the outdoors as more than a hobby. It’s a domain God created as a classroom, training ground, and sanctuary for your soul.

If you’ve felt restless, boxed in, or spiritually numb, it might be time to recover your identity as an explorer.

Listen in as Mike, Jim, and Steve invite you to step into the wild with purpose, hear God’s voice more clearly, and live a more adventurous life in Christ.
