Why is there hope within us? Why does Paul ask "Oh Death, where is thy sting?" On this All Saints Sunday, Rev. Erickson expounds upon why Christians do not grieve with hopelessness.

Look for the face of Jesus in every face, in every mercy, in every lost person that is found.

There are plenty of reasons that we come to church. We want our kids to be raised with a presence of God in their lives. We come here for tragedy and in time of pain. We come here to pray and long, to make sense of the senseless ness. How can we we truly worship and have healthy eyes?

Christ is right in front of your nose. Healing you, healing me, showing that love will win the day.

How do we declare God's gifts and miracles in our lives? From the biggest things to the smallest things, how do we retrace our steps to see that God is working for us?

The spirit of God is working, if only we can take time to see it.

How does the physical reality of our world effect how we see things? When our understanding of society and certain stereotypes are broken, how does that break the mold that we reside in? How do we let the voices of others influence our sight? Whose voices do we choose to let in and influence us in such ways?

Who does Jesus see? How does the way that we see things affect our vision of the world around us? We should look deeper than what we can see with our eyes.

When Jesus and the Disciples passed a man blind from birth, Jesus stopped while the disciples passed this man by. They grouped this blind man into a box saying "who was it that sinned, the man or his parents, that made him this way?" They assumed that there was fault at hand and grouped him into a named box believing that they already knew everything about him. As we see, they were wrong. How can we look past our assumptions and statements of "that person deserved it" and see how Jesus chose to see?

What is it to sincerely love one that is most difficult to love? When Bob chose to return to the maximum security prison to speak with the witch doctor who defiled Charlie, how did Bob's view and love change? How do we see God spanning his love to those who are, by our societies means, are the "terrible people" of this world?
