Did the shepherds feel close to God in their isolation in the wilderness? Did they feel far from God? Having such a rigorous life of living outside in the elements and watching one's sheep at night must have taken a toll while the rest of us are living more comfortably and are plugged in with their church and community. How did they manage? How did God show them that he wash just as much for them as much as he was for the rest of creation?
