' I will show you fear in a handful of dust' : T . S . Eliot , The Waste Land   

പ്രിയ സുഹൃത്തേ , 

ലോകകവിതയെ ആധുനികമാക്കിയ The Waste Land ( by T .S .Eliot ) എന്ന കൃതിയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഒരു ദീർഘസംഭാഷണമാണ് ഈ ലക്കം ദില്ലി -ദാലിയിൽ . പ്രമുഖ നിരൂപകനും കവിയുമായ പ്രൊഫസ്സർ ഇ . വി രാമകൃഷ്ണനുമായുള്ള ഈ സംഭാഷണം 'തരിശുഭൂമി'യുടെ നൂറാം വാർഷികത്തിൽ സാഹിത്യവിദ്യാർത്ഥികളും സാഹിത്യകുതുകികളും കേൾക്കേണ്ടതാണ് .   എന്താണ് 'തരിശുഭൂമി' യെ വ്യത്യസ്തമാക്കുന്നത് ? ഭാവശിൽപത്തിലും രൂപശിൽപത്തിലും അതു ചെയ്‌ത വിപ്ലവമെന്തായിരുന്നു? ഏതൊക്കെ ദർശനങ്ങളാണ് എലിയറ്റിനെ സ്വാധീനിച്ചത് ? The Waste Land ലെ മനുഷ്യാവസ്ഥ  യൂറോപ്പ് കേന്ദ്രീകൃതമാണോ ?  കിഴക്കിൻ്റെ ആശയപ്രപഞ്ചങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് എത്രമാത്രം അറിയാമായിരുന്നു ?  പിൽക്കാല ലോകകവിത എങ്ങനെ The Waste Land നെ സ്വാംശീകരിച്ചു ? ബംഗാളി , ഹിന്ദി , മറാത്തി , മലയാളം എന്നീ ഭാഷകളിലെ ആധുനികതയിൽ The Waste Land പതിപ്പിച്ച മുദ്ര എന്താണ് ? കക്കാടും അയ്യപ്പപ്പണിക്കരും കടമ്മനിട്ടയും എങ്ങനെ വ്യത്യസ്‌തരാകുന്നു ? ലോകനാഗരികതയുടെ ഇന്നത്തെ ആത്മീയപ്രതിസന്ധിയിൽ തരിശുഭൂമിയുടെ പ്രസക്തി എന്താണ് ? നമ്മളിൽ ആരൊക്കെ ആത്മവഞ്ചകരായ വായനക്കാരാണ് ?
