On episode 23 of Tru Crym Podcast, we discuss the Armin Meiwes case. Armin is a German computer technician that placed an ad in a cannibalism chat room, searching for someone that was willing to be eaten. Surprisingly, he received a response from a man named Bernd Brandes. The entire case sparked a huge debate because eating a consenting person isn't illegal in Germany. He eventually was convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. Now Armin is vegetarian.

On episode 22 of Tru Crym Podcast, we discuss the Mark "Gator" Rogowski case. If you skated in the 1980's or were into the whole skate culture, you probably knew the "Gator" story. Mark was one of the most prominent pro skateboarders of his time. He was sponsored by Vision Skateboards, was in a Tom Petty music video, and even appeared on MTV. Things started to go downhill in his personal life and professionally until he was sentenced to 31 years to life in 1992 for the brutal murder of 21 year old Jessica Bergsten.

On episode 21 of Tru Crym Podcast, we discuss the Kristen Rossum case. Kristen was a toxicologist who worked with the San Diego Medical Examiner's Office. She poisoned her husband Greg de Villers  and staged the scene out of the movie "American Beauty" by placing rose petals all over his deceased body. Greg's cause of death was ruled to be acute fentanyl intoxication.

On episode 20 of Tru Crym Podcast, we discuss the wild case of The Heaven's Gate Cult. In 1997, the horrifying discovery in the upscale community of Rancho Santa Fe, California, stunned not only the community, but the world. The UFO sort of New Age Group had committed a mass suicide. They believed that a UFO was traveling behind the Hale-Bopp comet and so they decided to leave their physical bodies behind to find life in an extraterrestrial “Kingdom of Heaven.”

On episode 19 of Tru Crym Podcast, we discuss the case of Todd Loren, the controversial comic book publisher of unauthorized comic book biographies of rock stars. The self proclaimed "Unauthorized and Proud of It" comic book creator was found brutally murdered in his condo. The case remains unsolved, although there is speculation that spree killer Andrew Cunanan may be a suspect.

On episode 18 of Tru Crym Podcast, we discuss the case of Ali Abulaban, the San Diego TikTok star known as JinnKid who was arrested for the double murder of his estranged wife Ana and her male friend named Rayburn. 

Ali and Ana began having marital problems and Ana was in the process of leaving the marriage. Unknown to Ana, Ali made a spare key to her apartment and installed a spyware app on their daughters iPad. Once he heard Ana and Rayburn together and chatting, Ali lost it and snapped. urn he lost it and snapped.

In 2001, Jane Dorotik was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the murder of her husband, Robert. She always maintained she was wrongly convicted. But not everyone was convinced of her innocence and numerous circumstantial evidence was stacked against her.

After 21 years, new evidence is presented which may have exonerated Jane Dorotik from this awful crime.

On episode 16 of Tru Crym Podcast, we discuss the case of Ramon Rogers, a part time actor, drummer in a band and serial killer.

Ramon was convicted in 1996 for the killings of two former girlfriends and the death of his former best friend. To top it all off, there may be a connection between Ramon Rogers and a missing woman from the 70's named Marie Ann Watson.

On episode 15 of Tru Crym Podcast, we discuss the disappearance and senseless murder of the McStay Family.

The McStay family disappeared on February 4, 2010 from their home in San Diego, CA near Fallbrook. After finding the family's car that was impounded at the border to Mexico in San Ysidro, police wonder "did the McStay family leave to Mexico and did not want to be found?"

But about 3 years later in the desert near Victorville, the bodies of all 4 McStay family members was found: Joseph (father), Summer (mother), Gianni and Joseph Jr. (sons, ages 4 and 3).

Between this time, investigators looked deeper into Joseph McStay's business associate: Charles “Chase” Merritt. They discovered that during the time of the McStay family's disappearance, several checks were written and deleted from Joseph's QuickBooks account. Investigators were also able to review the many phone calls to/from Joseph and Charles's cellphones the day the McStay family disappeared.
